In Chalice of Kings:
(
http://www.mindplaces.com/darkmod/screenshots/chalice2215.png) In this room,
the movable tapestry on the wall does not cover up the loose brick? Frobbing the tapestry just makes it go up more, and frobbing a second time back to the original position (still not covering up loose brick).Also the end level music got cut off by the title screen music. Unrelated(?): I've sometimes noticed in any mission that (esc)aping to the main menu will let some of the game sounds bleed through for a second before stopping.
That sound bug is known. But I don't understand how the other one can happen
unless you've moved the brick accidentally or otherwise. Have you tried pulling it out yet you don't say? Or are you trying to put it back, ie, as an extreme ghoster? Not tried that. Probably very difficult.

Hey Fidcal - no worries, I understand you guys must be pretty inundated at the moment. I partially solved the problem; looks like antialiasing was the culprit. If I don't try to use antialiasing, I get full resolution and I can unbind the strafe modifier without the .cfg being overwritten. Is this another ATI card issue, do you think?
Mods great, by the way.
UPDATE: looks like its a general problem with my setup and doom 3 - widescreen only works in vanilla d3 with antialiasing disabled as well.
I'm personally curious what exactly was the bind line for strafe modifier? I couldn't find anything about it on the net.

I feel bad asking such a trivial question in amongst these serious technical issues... but when I'm manipulating an object, mousewheel control seems to be the wrong way round. When I scroll the wheel away from me the object comes toward me, and vice versa. I've poked around in doomconfig.cfg but I'm not sure what all the values are and don't want to break anything (tdm_grabber_reverse_control?). Everything else mouswheel-controlled (books, inventory) behaves as I'd expect it to.
I felt the same way. The grabber push/pull shares with the inventory scroll (as you can't use both together there is no conflict) Change it here:
Settings > Controls > Actions/Inventory

And a quick question re: doomconfig.cfg. This file is present in every mission folder as well as Doom3\darkmod. When changing a value, which file should I change, or do I need to change them all? And does the file need setting to read-only to stop it from changing back?
Very good question. Most important everyone reads this article to keep configs in synch:

Hiya
Ops. Had a CTD in training mission just beyond the candle box in the objects area (has happened three times already in the same spot). And now I'm back to long loading times. So above clearly not helping.
We think this is the pedestal/pillar that is also present in two rooms in Chalice of Kings. We're working on a fix but for now you can only go in backwards and not look at the centre of the room!

Well, I finally got tdm installed, but I've got three weird problems. And yes, I read the
doomconfig.cfg entry on the wiki, doesn't apply.
Problem 1. No matter whether I change customHeight and customWidth, or change it in the in-game settings, my resolution is forced to a weird resolution (1280x800.) This looks cut off.. Please note I have NOT installed any missions, nor played any. I've only launched tdm to the menu so far.
Also, the doomconfig isn't read only. I tried 1024x768, but upon restart of doom 3, it reverts back to 1280x800:confused::weird: And on top of that, what's weird is that the in-game screen shows it as 1024x600, but if you check the dimensions of my image (attached), it's actually 1280x800:o
Problem 2. When I launch, I get the console (attached below to my post)
and I have to hit Esc on my keyboard to get to the TDM menu. Once there, game seems to be fine.:erm:
Problem 3. Strangely, my saves from doom 3 regular are in the Load/save games menu. (No, I didn't copy them to the darkmod folder.)
I've ran out of time. Try to get back on the first question. The strange console error sounds like you left a command in doomconfig or autoexec.cfg?

Also if it's not too hard I'd suggest adding
Apply settings button to video menu. It's funny how you have to restart the game (comes from vanilla Doom 3) if you just change the resolution when
vid_restart command in console does the same.
If I recall correctly, vid_restart turned out to be not reliable for all systems. For some users, vid_restart crashed their game.

Does TDM support demo recording and playing? I think it would be nice to have some build-in benchmarks:idea:.

I also had both the above, possibly together but I can't remember precisely how it got fixed. I certainly think the gamesaves just disappeared as I wasn't actively concerned about them. Check the following, some obvious but I'll list everything in case others have a similar problem:
UNinstall any FM on the New Missions menu and only edit the DoomConfig.cfg in the darkmod folder
command line arguments in the shortcut to tdmlauncher
arguments in dmargs.txt or related renamed dmargs added to tdmlauncher args. tdmlauncher uses these so you could for example configure to shortcuts.
settings in autoexec.cfg in base, darkmod, or game folder
settings in DoomConfig.cfg in base folder
Check your monitor actually supports the resolution you want.
Check you have the height/width the right way round in the config. They are alphabetically backwards to the normal way we think of screen res as width/height. (it's happened before.)
Double check for typos.
Look in DoomConfig.cfg for conflict between res settings and:
r_aspectRatio aspect ratio of view:
0 = 4:3
1 = 16:9
2 = 16:10
I think the menu takes care of that I think at one point I had on my old PC widescreen setting (because it's a widescreen monitor) but I was trying to get 1024 x 768 and all I got was the default 640 x 480.

This:
bind "ALT" "_strafe"
I use the right CTRL / Alt Gr key for crouch, so this was interfering. Seems to be a default doom 3 setting.

Interesting. So presumably that changes a turn into a side slide. Wonder if I could use that.
