Hello folks, it has been awhile since our first Teaser Trailer, so we thought it was high time for another one.
Disclaimer:
The second trailer has been somewhat of a cursed production. It was originally slated for a December 24th release, but unfortunately our original film guy had to quite due to real life responsibilities. Thanks to drewb50 for stepping up and doing a fantastic job for us, and a huge thanks to the Dark Mod team. They're a special group and I am truly enjoying the work we have done together on this project.
A good majority of the footage is rather out of date since it was recorded back in October. There are no death animations and the maps you are seeing aren't 'real' maps, they're just our tech maps for testing. :) It's not perfect, but we really needed to put what we had out there and move on to other things. This will still give you an idea of how things can look later down the road, and considering we still have another two years ahead of us, some great things have yet to happen.
Expect to see two or three smaller and up to date 'tech' videos in the near future.
Also, if someone could help host the hi-res version until I get it uploaded on a hosting site, it would be greatly appreciated. It's currently on some space being loaned to me by veledan and I don't want to take advantage of his good will. :) Enjoy folks.

Yes, I'd just like to make it crystal clear that the deaths will not look like that in the final game, there will be death animations played before the ragdoll kicks in, what you see here is just plain ragdoll, and I know some of them currently look even worse than the TDS ragdoll deaths.

no, they actually look better... in fact that whole demo looked 10 times better than TDS in every single aspect - I take my hat off to you taffers.
While I love the body dragging, is it/will it be possible to lift the corpse/unconscious through the z direction? Also a demo focusing on sound would be very nice to see, I fear people sometime forget that sound atmosphere and technology work for thief the dame as impressive graphics does for other fps.
(though I still can't fathom why you are not implementing the scouting orb or the ludicrous fear of copyright infringement, unless of course you plan to package this and sell it commercially in the future :ebil: ) ...if as New Horzion says we have to wait 2 year, I guess I could learn doom 3 scripting and coding by then to implement a scouting orb myself... Love the intro too!)

All in all it's a great performance!
Much more elegant and classic looking than TDS, that's for sure.
Cute how it features all of our old favorites ... Near the end of it I seriously said aloud "WTF! No water arro..." and then the final shot started with him putting out a torch. Nice touch.

The first bits of footage, with the thief along the ledge on the building seriously reminded me of Shipping and Recieving.
Anyways, I loved the whole trailer, except the ragdoll deaths. But you already explained that it won't be like that in the final version.
Also, what's this I hear about no scouting orbs? :wot:

Fully agree. Man, the whole thing looks bloody excellent! Had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up - just superb

The character isn't Garrett, no mechanical eye. We won't be including it in the toolset, but I'm sure someone will whip it up in quick measure once it's released. Heck, if someone has Doom 3, they could do it now and then it would just be a matter of porting it over.

Classic body carrying will still be possible, just hasn't made it in yet. Still lots of other player related items to work out before we get to that.
Did I mention we could really use some talented animators, modelers and texture artists? ;)
Yes, guilty as charged. :) However, the maps you see are only 'test' maps...mainly proof of concept or for tech and at this stage aren't what I would call playable. Although, the footage is much older and the AI have matured since then, so they are definately beginning to react in a much more thieflike manner.
