This team looks dedicated to the original spirit of Thief. The Thief universe keeps living and growing.:thumb:

No, no, a thousand times no. You don't need a visible body model to bump into things. Invisible War did it. Lots of recent FPSs do it. Heck, even the original Thief games did it to a degree.
But these games didn't have an optional 3rd person view. It might have been the dual implementation that made it so rubbish. What does it matter, it sucked.
Proprioception? Rubbish. That's so obviously a made up thing.

That word sounds so cool, tomorrow at work, I have to throw it in some conversation just to impress my collegues. :)

It is indeed a cool word. One I didn't even know until trying to explain why exactly Deadly Shadows' body awareness is so flawed. Consider (
http://www.apa.org/monitor/jun98/touch.html) this article describing the plight of a man who loses his proprioceptive sense.
Quote:
Waterman’s obliviousness to that sense ended when a viral infection destroyed the nerves that control his sixth sense as well as those for feeling light touch. He’s lost all feeling below the neck and
is unable to tell without looking how his body is positioned. That bit at the end sounds like our TDS Garrett, doesn't it? Whoops, fell off a ledge because I couldn't tell which way my feet were pointing. So yeah, Body Awareness is certainly more realistic... unfortunately it's a realistic simulation of someone with a crippling nerve disorder. Yay Ion Storm.

Yes, I like his apostrophe use too. Correct punctuation pleases me.

I already managed that actually, I was describing how an octopus has no proprioception in its tentacles because they are completely flexible, and without a limited number of joints like we have the amount of data required is unmanageable.

Ha ha. You are so right Zylon. What were they thinking?
The Dark Mod is our great hope now. Mine certainly. I'm still, slowly, working on my TDS map (but I have little time atm). TDM will, hopefully, provide a nonsense free game environment.
