I wonder if you can do "airborne mantling", like falling off of something and catching a surface and mantling up?
Yes. That's pretty cool. In one of our testmaps I tried to jump to the other side and failed because I was to short, but I still grabbed the ledge, and mantled up there. IMO it felt quite realistic, because this is what a real person would also try if it jumps to short. :)

Anything ever come of the discussion on "reverse mantling"? E.g.-- allowing the player to climb tight spaces by pushing against the sides?

Looks good, lads! Keep it up. Two questions, though:
1) Relative to Dromed, how difficult is the TDM to work with (it's the only reason I didn't trade in D3, btw)?
2) It might have been the video/sound quality of your trailer, but the 'loot frob' sound seemed a bit tinny and grating. Any chance of making it a bit richer (no pun intended)?

I don't find the doom 3 editor difficult to work with at all, in fact I find it much easier than dromed. We'll be releasing our own customized version of the doom 3 editor with the Dark Mod toolset, we're going to try and make it more familiar to dromed/ t3 editor uses.

I think it's just the sound quality of the trailer. The loot frob sounds great ingame. We're very happy with it. :)

They're not on the table at the moment, far too many other core features to work on before considering adding 'new' stuff.

For the mantling, it seems from the video that it is always the left foot / arm that is used to push up first. Would it be possible to implement it so the charater uses the most convenient arm / leg to push up in the certain position they are in, or at least to make it random, cos if it's left side each time, it sort of takes away from the immersion a bit. Either that or you could use both legs/arms at once and have it just horizontal.
Also, is there / will there be a way to lower yourself quietly of ledges/drop down a bit before letting go to avoid taking damage, or is it too early to say. This may be what zylon meant by reverse mantling, but it sounded from his description more like he meant climbing up vents or something by pushing your arms and legs out.
Cheers, Daniel.

It seems more likely that somebody would consistently lead with one leg/arm or the other, rather than switching. Most people have a preference for one side of the body instead of choosing the closest one.
Either way, this has to qualify as the Least Significant Immersion-Breaker of all time.
