Stories of the greatest thief the world has NEVER seen

Long before Camelot was Camelot, and King Arthur and Excalibur existed, there was a man named Garrett, a cynical, sarcastic and unenthusiastic master thief that sees everyone as a potential victim who can help line his pockets. But he gets dragged to something big.
This version of my cinematic Thief project has more scenes and music taken from unused trailers and such. Removed the 18+ requirement and removed the blue effect on the grayscale cutscenes. The project was made so that I (and other people) could bring the Thief storyline for those who never play video games.
Please, enjoy.
Time to make : 2 months thinking, 2 weeks compiling it, 1 day uploading it due to slow connection.
Program used : Windows Movie Maker
Made in 480p for good old Xbox nostalgia.

Did anybody even visit this topic? No comments whatsoever is kinda strange.

I actually saw your project on youtube originally when I was looking for a specific cutscene. And yes you have done a very good job! :)

I'm afraid I don't have a spare hour and a half at the moment. But I'll get to it at some point.

I watched the first few minutes. You need to edit it wayyy down. There's like 5 minutes of fluff before you even get to the first story moment with young Garrett on the streets. Did you just put all the cutscenes in there to get it feature length? I'd rather you condensed it to the core elements of the story running throughout the 3 games, and edited it down to a 15-20 minute short.
Let me know if you're not gonna do this, I'd kinda like to try my hand at it myself. :sly:

No, i didn't put all cutscenes, in fact it's just put half of them. There was heavy editing for Thief 1 and Thief 2, and many scenes were deleted. In fact, none of the movie has the Thief Gold cutscenes, just SOME of the older The Dark Project cutscenes of the original game as shipped in 1998. Only Thief 3 had none of it's scenes removed. If i put all the cutscenes and stuff, you'd get a 3 hours movie. No kidding. It's impossible to recap the whole Thief trilogy in a simplistic manner without making people get confused about it in a 15 minutes short, it's like asking an elephant to climb a tree, or a taffer to walk at a guard and let him stab his 'swuurd' at him. And the intro scene is meant to introduce the factions and the whole backstory of the... movie (i almost said game). The intro is very inspired by other movies like Dark City and Gattaca (both these movies are great and you should feel bad for not seeing them). And it isn't *really* "feature length" because the usual standard is two hours now per movie.Remember, the movie isn't made to necessarily "please" people who typically play the Thief series in general, it's meant to be a good way to introduce almost anybody to the franchise. If you'd like a slightly shorter "to-the-point" version of this movie, with an incredibly infuriating blue color scheme ripped off CoSaS that seems really cool and everything but gets annoying, and the really obnoxious and glitchy Windows Poopie Maker intro effects, try this then :(

First, the in-game footage *IS* blurry by itself. The gameplay footage was not filmed by any gamer, it's in fact gameplay footage recorded for one of the Thief 1 trailers. I didn't want to use any gameplay footage not made by LGS or any official companies.
Second, the visual artifacts only appear in a few scenes, notably in a gameplay footage before that one, but i didn't see any in the Constantine reveal scene when i now checked myself on YouTube. Only thing i notice is that the video itself is slower than the normal Thief 1 cutscenes, which isn't done on purpose and is an error caused by something else. I dunno what it could be, though. The visual artifacts themselves only appear in a few cutscenes, notably 2 of the cutscenes in Thief 3 and a few cutscenes in Thief 1. The rest is completely fine. You might want to detail what's the error in the Constantine reveal scene because i can't see any pixelation errors through it and it may be your internet/browser/computer/whatever.

The aspect ratio on the longer one is smashed down, and it looks horrific. It didn't import properly to youtube or something.
