The Fighting TTLGers present: Arma 3 (a TTLG Coop Saturdays spin-off) - by Thirith

Sounds good to me. Jesh says he might be able to play this weekend too, and he's got it downloaded, but that was for Saturday. I'll check he's good with Sunday too.
Edit: So unfortunately, Jesh can't make Sunday. But I'd still be up for a game. Maybe we can convince Sulphur to join us.
Of course, if anyone else is interested in playing Sea of Thieves, you're more than welcome to join in! We need a full complement so we can play our instruments at eachother :D

Sunday should be fine for an hour or two, sure!

Thanks to Jason, demagogue, Malf and Jeshibu for a nice game, even if we didn't hear dema most of the time. Out of interest: did you guys update TS3 or did you stick to the old version?
We started with a mission called Liquid Gold, which had us head for a little town, grab the speedboat and get out of there. All in all, things went well in spite of resistance - though then we got to the boat and Jesh reversed over me while I was in the water... so I drowned while the others all made it away. Might've had something to do with my leadership skills.
Next mission, Golden Pheasant, started us off underwater in scuba gear - and with the shittiest guns Arma has to offer. A first attempt at making it to the base where we were supposed to find incriminating documents, blow up some vehicles and assassinate an enemy officer didn't go so well, and the second attempt wasn't much better until we managed to kill a few soldiers and steal their infinitely better guns. We found the documents, destroyed the vehicles (though dema took us out at the same time) - and then things got weird, as we were all clearly desynced from one another. I came upon a patrol walking in place, and even 10-15 shots wouldn't take out a single enemy soldier. Everyone saw the others in different places. So we moped out of that Jacob's Ladder scenario...
... and finished on a chaotic but thrilling Firefight Dorida, where in spite of an utter lack of leadership on my part we (I think it was Jesh, right?) took out an enemy MRAP after it pretty much decimated us. Huzzah!
The next game will probably be in two weeks. Till then!

Wasn't me, I carried the rockets for Malf's looted launcher and patched him up when he poked around the corner a bit too eagerly.
Good session, lads. Glad I could finally make (most of) one again!

I did update TS3. In-game I got a message in the lower-right that said "Pipe was closed by TS", which I assume was behind the sound issue. A quick google search suggests the last time some people got that error back in 2017, downgrading after an update fixed it. So that makes it sound like an update issue. I could hear everybody else at least. Fun times.

dema, next time you join a session we could try and look into this beforehand. It might resolve itself if it's something to do with the Task Force Radio plugin - I think it's possible that this only installs properly after you've launched the game once. Anyway, let's look into this.
Edit: Also, it's been good having you join a session again, Jeshibu. There's been a distinct lack of deadpan Dutch snark lately. :)

Old one. My problems in the first couple missions were due to my mic jack being plugged into the wrong thing because I'm an idiot.

Nah, that was me. I was yelling into my mic the whole time wondering why no one was responding. I don't think I've ever had an explosion blow me clear over a 6 foot high wall before.

To be fair, there is a non-zero chance than when I open up the inventory for a weapons cache (which I did around then), I'll accidentally set a timed explosive since I'm still not used to the UI (selecting items instead of turning off the middle-mouse menu), and I think I might have done that around that time. There were a lot of explosives going off around that time to clear out the vehicles, though, so who knows.

If it makes you guys feel better I blame both of you.

There's no fire like friendly fire... And you'll get an opportunity to do it all over again very soon!
