Actually, it's not that bad. I'd try to make it a lot less pointy, though, and increase the size of the protuding fork-like things.

It looks like some sort of chicken-moose hybrid...

I am simaltaniously impressed and disappointed. I am impressed that the city map and the final glyph from the cutscene actually relate to one another. I am disappointed that this kind of care was not taken elsewhere instead. I would have gladly done without this kind of detail in exchange for some better character development among NPCs.

I completely agree with Digi. I hadn't thought about it this way at first as I was impressed at the detail the team would put into something like that, but Digi's right that maybe that time could have better been spent developing another aspect of the game.

Yeah, especially because it takes the same amount of time.

Quite likely, someone drew the map first, because they needed it as flavour content anyway. Then someone chose a few random streets and highlighted them. Then they gave it as a reference to whoever was responsible for the cutscene. All in all, it cost them about five minutes of work. Someone just had the right idea at the right moment.
Or maybe they did it in some elaborate roundabout way beyond my comprehension, because all kinds of strange things happen in this industry all the time. But there's no reason to assume someone's incompetence just because it's possible.
