I try to get in about 45 minutes of work out on average four evenings a week. Ideally five, wanted to go for every weeknight, but it depends on what else I have to do. I got myself one of those girly exercise bikes that I warm up with, I do some weight lifting for arms and upper body, some abdomen exercises and then maybe another round for legs. Been thinking about getting a bench and all the works, I used to have more equipment when I was back home.

Semi-regular trips to the gym now. My job has moved me too far away to attend my self-defence classes for the past 6 months but come August hopefully I can re-start, and it's pretty aerobic.
Vivian - that's a variation of high intensity interval training (HIIT) it seems. I used to do HIIT on the stationary bike.
Scots - don't be a pessimist! You don't live Scotland nor eat the bad diet (I know cuz you've talked about your cooking) so you should be... safer.
Sulphur - 6 days a week is probably too much. You'll end up injured. I did this last year for about 2 months in the run-up to a self-defence training trip. The last 3 weeks running up to the trip I had to calm it down because I had aches in places I didn't know I had.

Not nearly enough, I'm afraid. I do try to cut down on the amount of crap I eat, but it's not easy sometimes.

I go for a walk every night, while listening to audiobooks/podcasts. Too lazy to do anything that might actually make me break a sweat.

I tried to go to the gym regularly in high school when I wasn't doing track, but just couldn't motivate myself. Didn't even continue with track. These days I do parkour - kind of. It's actually just generic strength/conditioning with a little group that meets once a week, but it's affiliated with the Australian Parkour Association, and we have a tendency to climb on things in the name of S&C. Much more engaging than the gym, I've found! Plus, it's free.
When I've actually got the time, I'll often spend a Saturday afternoon looking around home or uni for spots to train some proper parkour, though I'm not super-dedicated without a group of people fitter than me setting the pace :p.

Learn to skate! It's pretty much parkour, just faster.

In all seriousness, I do eat well - perhaps a little too well (in terms of the richness of the food) - and I stand by eating a highly varied diet of almost entirely fresh meat, dairy and fruit/vegetables. In the last year or so I've massively cut down on excess carbs, choosing salads and steamed veggies over rice or potatoes. I also eat a lot less pasta.
My weaknesses are dining out on a weekly basis (at least twice weekly if I'm being honest) and boooooooooooooze. I maybe have 2 alcohol free days a week (on a good week) but at least I'm very rarely binging (where binging is in excess of a half bottle of wine or two spirits). Aside from that, my body is a temple.
Until recently I'd done nothing "active" save the walk to the train and the walk to the office (and "nocturnal activities") but in the past 4 weeks I've probably done about 1,000 sit ups and about 20 hours of free weights - centred mostly on my arms and chest. Feeling a lot better for it (and noticing a very sudden aesthetic change also) and finding an increasing desire to do more, so I'm lazily researching a bench to buy. Oh and a few times now I've been dancing again, ridiculously high intensity cardio. Wish I could do more of it but being a parent isn't the most forgiving to a salsa enthusiast, plus Brisbane's scene is shithouse.

Booze is totally what's going to fuck me up, as well. Like you say, I have to make myself take at least two days off being at least partially pissed in the evenings. It's waaaay too pleasant and easily available a habit to break off easily though. Smoking was a piece of piss.

But I mean do we really know how much the body is designed to process on a regular basis before it becomes detrimental? Our liver regulates toxicity in the blood etc just like our heart is charged with an incredibly important function and it's got a decent working shelf life. I don't put too much stock in what will kill me, we're all going to die after all, but obviously the goal is to live as long and as full a life as possible.
If I found out tomorrow that I could extend my natural life by ten years if I didn't eat dairy or wheat again and I stopped drinking, I wouldn't do anything different. I live for that shit! Not for the sake of living.

I hear you Scots, and I agree. Life is for living and therefore everything in moderation. It's things that will seriously affect/shorten your life that you should be worried about, which is why I've recently quit smoking (again). Drinking is fine as long as it's not affecting your ability to function as person, your job, your relationships etc. The only dangerous thing is overdoing it, and I've met these (arguably amazing) high-functioning alcoholics that drink a lot, all the time, and yet still keep everything together.
As you say - just doing some exercise makes you feel better. I wish I could cycle to work because I think it would do me a world of good and you know the environment and all that. Plus I like cycling.
