And those P90X vids are such bull. If you do
any decent exercise for 3 months you'll notice a difference.
I really don't want to be some P90X spokesman. I'm just saying it's a good system, you basically invest 6 hours of your week, and you get a solid well rounded program of cardio, yoga, and weights without needing to go to a gym or have any expensive workout machine in your basement. And it's actually kind of fun (but hard too). It works for me (when I actually do it).

, so if you did attempt heavier forms of exercise you'd probably wisp away in an angry puff of smoke, leaving only the faint strains of tired-sounding violins in your wake.
I don't know if it's possible to wisp away angrily, but yeah, I'd give it a go. Richard Ashcroft? Fucking hell, the man looks like an entitled peachstone in a shirt.

Welp,,, i'm fucked.
friends had a last minute drop out of their Spartan Race team, looks like I'm filling in.
here's hoping the race itself doesn't give me a heart attack even if i'm in shape to do it.

I almost forgot, I'm doing (

Oh shit, just realized that's only 2 months away.

P90X is somewhat commendable for being a serious, well rounded program that isn't designed to sell a piece of equipment and isn't a flavor of the month type gimmick. And user reviews are pretty positive about the results. Then again, if you exercise for an hour a day and follow a strict diet it's hard not to see results.
Until late last year, I was always reasonably fit but now I'm headed for a heart attack. What I need to come up with is a set of 30 min. routines I can do with no equipment in a hotel room. That, and improve my diet. I eat too much restaurant food when away from home and too much high-carb takeaway when home. And cut back on the booze - my wife has gotten me into her habit of using wine before bed as a sleep aid.

Some friends of mine just did the tough mudder recently. Looks like fun.
I can't do any weights for 6 weeks because I have a trapped radial nerve in my left hand and need to prioritise writing :/
Looks like badminton, jogging and swimming are going to have take up the slack.

I do not like weightlifting, gyms or anything of that matter. I like to use my body without external devices, which means running and swimming mostly. I do bike, since it's nice to see places you wouldn't with running, but even that leaves your upper body out of it. Push-ups, abs etc. I think those are the best to get fit "gym-wise" because they're natural and easy to learn to do right. I don't care about muscles and looking "buff" so it's win-win for me.
Heywood, do the prison work-out! (
http://www.marksdailyapple.com/prison-workout/), the burpee is the most important one I'd say, because it gets your whole body moving.

Somebody mentioned
booze and I'm curious... I always hear how it will completely destroy your exercise efforts, but at the same time, lots of research says a small amount a day (2-4 units for a guy) is actually benenficial to health. So is it just binge drinking that's bad, then? Or can I enjoy my tea with shot of whiskey in the evening without going all "BUT MY GLUTES!"
(probably will need to just try it and see what happens, kind of how im experimenting with my diet now :p)

Of course, but that's the WHOLE point of it - most people
don't know what exercise to do, so P90X shows them exactly that. Plus, it got some research / trial-and-error logic behind it that makes that particular choice of exercise more effective at toning / building your body than another choice of exercise (not that the other ones wouldn't work either).
Heck, that's why I mentioned 5BX in my OP, it's just a bunch of generic crunches, push ups and joggings in place, but having it all in an organized, easy to follow and progressively more intense (!) layout makes it so much easier to follow than if I was just jumping around my room like a retard.

Give (
http://osalrex.110mb.com/index.html) 5BX a try; as I mentioned, it's just 11 mins a day and, while it wont get you in top shape, it will get your heart rate up and, if my case is any indication, give you noticeable energy and morale boost :) Plus, 11 mins!
AS for eating out... I am trying to get out of a stigmatization rut because, honestly, eating out is only as unhealthy as you make it (and in many cases, can even be healthier than homecooked meals).
If you are concerned about calories, just eat less (many restaurants now show caloric amounts next to dishes). I routenily pack half my plate for a nice lunch the next day :)
If you are concerned about "healthiness" well... go for the better options then. Ya you can get fat and carb ladden fetucine alfredo, or the grilled chicken on sauted veggies. Take-out sandwiches are usually no worse than those you make at home, and you can always ask for whole-wheat bread or no mayo/cheese/dressing on the side.
Also look into non-US cuisines that are NOT US-ran chains. Asian food in particular tends to be pretty healthy, but again I am talking mostly about local shops ran by actual asians, not Panda Express. I just had some Korean BBQ the other day - a whole plate of chicken and pork I just grilled myself? Kimchee and Broccoli-salad sides? This shit is healtheir than half the meals I cook at home :p

That looks great. Looks inspired by Tough Guy here in the UK.

18-25 years old... chart 5... level C... holy crap! 35 clapping push-ups in one minute? I'm tempted to give this a go. (Fact: I don't actually have muscles in my arms. They're just holograms to hide my naked bones.) Also, the site seems to be down, which is funny since it was definitely up like three days ago. (
