I've been following the development of this game for a little over a year now. Anyways, the game was finally released through Steam Early Access and looks very promising. The premise is that you are on a plane when you suddenly crash land on an island inhabited by cannibals. The developers say that there will also be a 'cheat mode' that allows you to attempt to survive without the threat of being attacked by the cannibals. There are also plans to include coop later on. For now though, the early access version seems more like a proof of concept as you only have access to a portion of the environments that will be in the final build but most of the games mechanics are already there. There was a bug upon initial release where you were unable to save your game but I believe that's been fixed. I know the dev's plan on making updates every two weeks so there should be more content in the coming weeks.

Has anyone else had a chance to play this game yet? There is something seriously unnerving about the cannibals in this game. I can't wait to see how the rest of this game turns out.

I've been playing this. The atmosphere is great and genuinely scary (the cannibals are creepy and they both sneak up and gang up on you), but it's a typical early access type of release. There's not a ton to do after you've played for about 5 hours. The crafting is fun but there needs to be a lot more of it. There are also a lot of graphical errors and issues, and I've had quite a few CTDs. A fun game with a lot of potential, but don't expect too much at this early point in it's development. No regrets on buying it though, I'm sure it will be great once they get some more content into it.

Started playing this yesterday. It's at once very rough and very impressive in it's current state. The player and enemy animations are great. Chopping down a great tree and watching it creak and slowly fall is always satisfying. The crafting stuff feels natural and well made, and I'd say the whole game is very well balanced at the moment. It's difficult, but you'll survive if you keep your wits about you. Exploration is dangerous but can yield great rewards.
But certain elements still feels quite wonky. The AI for instance is a bit all over the place. When you're in the dark caves they can be thick as mud, just standing around while you walk up and hit them, but out in the wild their AI is mostly really great. They're more bold when traveling in packs, but single canibals frighten more easily. Sometimes I've had stand offs with them that end with them just running off without a single blow being exchanged. Later on I discovered that there were different tribes of canibals and they fought each other. The tribe I encountered later on was made up of tall pale naked guys who were very strong. When one of them beat me down I woke up in a dank cave with a creature from my worst nightmares. You guys remember Human Centipede? This game has something sorta like that, except it's a human spider.

I bought this yesterday after noticing you were playing it (good old voyeuristic Steam) and then checking out the vid and the reviews on Steam. Really looking forward to giving it a try.

Haven't tried this in a while, I need to revisit. I hope they've increased the amount of crafting available, it was pretty basic last time I played.

I was killed on day 1. I like it already, but it's going to need an evening where I can properly concentrate and devote a bit of time to it. It's very creepy.

I do enjoy your game pictures Henke :)
Yeah, I'll give it a more sustained chance next time I feel mentally ready - it's quite an intimidating game - kind of like Dark Souls the first time where you just feel like the game is bullying you.

I enjoy the pictures, too, even if I don't have a lot to say at this point. I'm interested in this and also The Long Dark (steam early access), but I'm not a huge fan of playing works in progress, so I might wait for a while.
