First I am happy to see everyone still is alive here.
I want to put an idea to all of you, an idea that I, most likely almost all of you have had also, have always had since I started playing video games, and that is to become part of a video game. You probably can guess what I am thinking of, but I will say it anyways.
I would like to see who would be interested in remastering thief 1-2 for the htc vive. I can only imagine how cool it would be to fly over the roof tops, or sneak around corners, actually black jack people, sword fights, archery, throwing items, while always being scared smitless.

I'm a VR enthusiast (I've owned more than one recent VR devkit and a consumer Rift), and while I can appreciate the desire for this, it isn't going to work as you're imaging.
The locomotion, for instance, is not something you could just directly adapt from the current games - how do you expect to follow the assassin's across the city or mantle up a wall in VR? Likewise, sword fights without resistance don't work very well.
Barring perfect haptics and a proper omni-treadmill, you're not going to be able to just do a straight remastering as you imagine.
That doesn't mean we can't have a Thief-y VR experience, but it's going to require gameplay innovation. Archery does work very well with touch/vive controllers (there's a great part of Valve's demo experiences that's basically an archery minigame if you'd like to try it), so that's a starting point. Perhaps you could do a room-scale experience that used arrows for teleportation as a means of getting around the limited room area.
Likewise, the act of lobbing things (like, say, a flash bomb) does work well in VR with touch controls, so that's another thing you could base gameplay around.
So, VR remastering...basically a non-starter. But Thief-like VR experiences are something we might be able to do. For an example of stealth/puzzly gameplay in VR right now, look up a title called "Budget Cuts".

Hi, I'm going to limit myself to making fun of your notion that Thief should only be remastered for a specific make and model of VR headset.
