The ancient Greek and Iron Age Norse mythology precede the alchemical reference, though I agree that this depiction looks like it was taken from the serpente-alquimica. It is hard to say if the Greek myth of the "perfect animal" led to the Norse "world-serpent" or if they developed separately. So I wonder what the oroborous means, if anything, in the Thief universe?
But since Thief 1's architecture and fashion is mostly 13th-14th century Europe, and Thief 2's is mostly 15th-16th century Europe, the alchemical reference fits the Thief universe nicely. So, will we see the image of the serpente-alquimica in a book or wall hanging within an upcoming FM?
