The Great Bargain Deals Discussion thread. - by David

One great thing about the operator menus built into the Pro Pinball titles is that you can configure most of the game features to be easier or harder, so if you wanted to make the game more forgiving for your daughter, you could totally do that. (Although the thread below reminds me that Timeshock doesn't let you access those options initially.)
This thread may or may not be helpful in choosing a table :)

You might also want to look for a demo version, to check whether the game will run happily on your PC? I (
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/pro_pinball_series/big_race_usa_performance_suggestions) ended up using a custom script to give BRUSA and FJ a single CPU core mostly to themselves, which seemed to deal with some issues I was having. Other people report no such problems at all, though.

Thanks again to you both! I am going to give GOG a visit and I'll report back when I give them a go.
EDIT: doctorfrog: Your blog is killer. I tend to avoid them, but I got stuck in yours. Good work.
I'd love to dig this one up sometime

Steam Weekend Deal:-
(http://store.steampowered.com/app/2600/) Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines - $5 USD - 75% offI realise that I'm preaching to the converted, but this is by far one of the best RPGs made since Deus Ex. (It's probably the most worthy spiritual successor to the Deus Ex legacy of any game made to date.) ...
I'd probably buy it, but I can't be spending any money on games at the moment.:(
Edit: Sorry for pointless post, but much thanks to Matthew for the gift!

The deal has been sweetened. Pay more than $4.95 and the Humbe Indie Bundle #2 is included. Braid, Cortex Command, Machinarium, Osmos, Revenge of the Titans, Steel Storm.
It's now up to a $4.98 threshold which would indicate that they're updating it constantly to follow the current average. Given that people will probably go for a little more than the price shown on average it'll probably keep creeping up so going for this deal earlier rather than later is advised if you want the extra games.

Those crafty bastards.
Oh, incidentally, if you bought the bundle before this promotion, you get the Bundle 2 games automagically.

I bought Heroes of Might and Magic V and enjoyed it, but got hit with a game-breaking bug that no-one else seems to have encountered so I disposed of it. Now that the HOMM series is on offer at GOG, can anyone recommend one of the previous games?
