Having just recently played through Armageddon I can confirm it does have its moments. The DLC (Path to War) is utter shit, though.

Oh well. 70 cents isn't too much damage.
I guess they were in a hurry to kick it out the door and close them down.
It's a sad story that one. Because Guerrilla didn't sell fast enough for the publisher's liking they were told to make the next one more third-person shooter-y. But I bet if they looked now, Guerrilla has a huge following who'd line up for a similar game no problem.

Fyi Final Fantasy 14: Realm Reborn is free for the next ~12 days if you want to check it out.

The direction for Armageddon was definitely forced by THQ, I researched this a while ago.
In the post-THQ era, things are kind of a mess now. The developer Volition is owned by Deep Silver, but the game rights are with Nordic Games. Two different game publishers working together is not unheard of (eg Disney + Warner teaming up to make a couple of Lego games), but I'd say it's unlikely.
In related news, we might be seeing (

Make a multiplayer version of it and I'd do something I never do and pre-order it.

I still hold out some irrational hope that someone could make a multiplayer mod for it like Just Cause 2.
Certainly put that game back up the charts, so it's not like there's no incentive on Nordic's part.

GreenManGaming has a (
http://www.greenmangaming.com/50-games-you-must-play/) 50 Games You Must Play thing going on, where acclaimed games get huge discounts. Right now they have #31-40 on discount, which include games like Batman: Arkham City and Deus Ex: Human Revolution for $5.00 and Civilization 5 for $7.50.

Note that CiV without Brave New World is a decent and entertaining game, but definitely does
not belong in a list of "Games You Must Play". With BNW it would, but the version on that list lacks this vital expansion.

Jagged Alliance Flashback is 66% off on Steam, apparently. For some reason I was able to get it for 81% off (maybe because I own the last few JA games?). It's the digital deluxe edition which includes Space Hulk and JA1 Gold. Not a bad deal for $10.
On a side note, we have a "bargain deals discussion" thread for stuff that isn't just listing deals. I dunno if I think it's necessary, but no one seems to use it anymore.
