Thanks for the detailed feedback, it's much appreciated! And hey, better late than never. ;)
Schwaa2 - Coming from the author of the very cool Left for Dead, that's quite a bit of praise there! Thank you very much, also for putting it up for download. :)
Ack, I never noticed that about the key! It opens the front door of the place, not the door to his office, which it was supposed to do as well. Heh, no matter how hard you try to find all the little bugs, something is always left in. The name was meant as the key for "Hopsmith Apartments", the name of the building/business, so that should be right though.
Setting the ambient to something that will work for everyone is always a pain... The ambient light was set via Editors - Mission Parameters - Rendering Parameters as 0.05 on all. It would be about 13 if set using the input box in the lower right corner.
Jocke - The 2nd part is coming along... Slowly though, sorry. I decided to rework a part of the mission and it's taking longer than I expected. I'm afraid you'll have to drool a lttle bit longer. ;)

Morrgan,
I thought that might've been the case with the key.
The lighting's fine, I just don't think LCD screens are very good for Thief.
But I need a little help
.
I've been around the entire mission a few times (except the Seminary) and i can't find the Vault combo anywhere. Is it in the Seminary? I don't want to start looking all over again
Jocke,
I knew it was coming, just don't have much for internet 99% of the last year, luckily i had a few days with a connection and DL'ed 3-4 FM's that I've been waiting on, when I get home I'll be taffin about for weeks :) plus all of the new FM's i didn't even know about, it's like an early X-mas :D
MaddogCt,
There's some wood to rope arrow up to, above the balcony, I can't believe you stacked crates that high, I could never get up more than 2 or 3 max.
Schma,
I totally agree. Although I didn't notice lack of ambients, I guess there wasn't alot of music, but there weren't any "dead" spots either with no noise

schwaa -
The combination is hidden underneath a mat in a bedroom. There's a building with a small front garden that has a toolbox by the front door. That's the one you want.
Thanks NW, searched that buildinh up and down (well, more up than down I guess :D)

Schwaa2 -
I used 4 crates stacked like stairs to get up to the balcony. Nothing like doing things the hard way. :)

Nice mission. And yes, it's entirely ghostable! I ended up 237 short on loot and missed one secret. I found secrets in a fireplace in the mansion, in the house where the guy has the vault combination, and behind some boxes on the street where there is a secret door into the deathhouse; but I don't know where the fourth one is. Does anybody remember?
I was really a dork... I didn't realize until about three quarters of the way through that there was no curfew in the town, and the guards and the wanding lady would not react if I just strolled past them. So I was slipping from shadow to shadow and diving for cover whenever anyone waltzed by :eww: ! You can't let yourself be seen inside any building, I think; but the street belongs to all, I reckon.

I enjoyed this mission a lot; very small, very classic Thief. I liked the little ancillary storylines and places to explore. My only objection was that I didn't see any way to get up to the rooftops; it didn't seem particularly three-dimensional -- no movement along the Z-axis, except within buildings, and the fact that the streets rose and fell a bit. But no dizzying series of ladders to climb, no deep waterpit to explore, no rooftop or sewer adventures that I could find.
But the AI were good (possible to avoid but not too easy), the puzzle of the bank vault was well designed, and the secrets were fair. I kind of liked the time limit on the vault security; it turns out I had longer than I thought I had, and it was just the right length of time, if you plan it out beforehand. Others have talked about the architecture; I don't have much of an eye for that sort of thing... but since I didn't notice anything obviously wrong or jarring, I guess I liked it :thumb: .

I think I meant the
wandering lady; but now I kind of like the wanding lady... perhaps a refugee from the Transportation Security Administration on her day off, wandering around the city wanding random people to check for contraband.

-Nice length
-Great city layout
-Good objectives with reasonable challenge
-Very pretty visually
One of the nicest to come around the pike in a while......
My biggest indicator of a mission is my enjoyment (no brainer). This one did very well on that scale.
I give it : TWO:thumb: THUMBS:thumb: UP!
