Odd. I managed to get them to leave in 5 days. I ran into one bug that necessitated a restart, but given all the different things the AI can do I'd have been astonished at a completely bug-free environment.
I never thought of holding down the 'use' key for the piano. Dopey me. And I never thought of salting their food. But I loved messing with the safe and telescope.
Look into the "books" directory... This mission is ready for
100
nights of haunting :cheeky:
This mission is gorgeous! The best for me at this time :thumb:

There's not actually any difference between the difficulty levels, I never got around to doing more than naming them.
The number of nights that the mission takes depends on how often you scare them, and nothing else.
Maybe this will be different in version 1.10, which I'm still working on.
I'll also have to see about having a message appearing the firt time you highlight each of the 'hold-the-use-key' objects, informing you how to use them.

and I loved those holy waves of light.. Reminded me of Dragon Ball Z for a moment
I think I got the idea from a similar effect with expanding, circular walls of fire in Drakan: Order of the Flame.

How about the 800+ loot ?
That was a mistake; I forgot to make the loot worthless. It'll be fixed in v1.10.

I just have to ask what the title is of that piano track.
The two piano tracks are: "Happy Birthday Mozart Style", played by the female noble, and "Funeral March", played by the ghostly player.
Thanks are in order for whoever sequenced the midi files which I made the samples out of. (I have no idea who that might be, however...)
The orignal "Funeral March" was much longer, but I cut it into a shorter, looping sample.

Frobber, the guy sits at his desk and writes. You were looking for that motion, weren't you?
That motion could probably be improved a bit, but feel free to use it, anyway.

The piano playing was awesome (although stealing my thunder for my next mission.) I need to see if it's a bend model or a regular motion modified for sitting.
The piano-playing just makes use of those unused typing motions in Thief2's (and SS2's) Motion.crf. In your own words:

Yes, its been months since these came out, but I finally hae time for them. I couldn't find any help on the forums, so here we go:
Does anyone have a list of what can be frobbed in the game? I'm having a hard time finding things to scare with.
When the preist comes, nothing happens. We both just stand there, looking around. I have the custom scripts, any ideas?

the man of the house really likes to get stuck (i've had him get stuck going back and forth in the door jam and only been able to stand there, stuck, watching).
if the priest comes & that man doesn't show up... or gets stuck in the doorway, essentially, you need to reload until he comes out too (i hope you have a recent save!)
as for stuff that can be frobbed, i don't know if there's a list around, but the only things i can remember being able to frob were:
piano, clock on the mantel, telescope, victrola, salt while they're eating, safe & the man's papers when he lays them on the desk (and walking through them does something too)
.
hope that helps!

Sometimes you can also frob
the books that the two nobles sometimes read
Invisibility on 13/11/2004 at 22:40
A note about the frob list - hold down the frob button on the piano to play some music. This will scare them, whereas merely frobbing it once doesn't.
MrMunkeepants on 13/11/2004 at 22:41
Thats pretty much all I had found as well, but sometimes frobbability is linked to the NPCs' proximity: they have to be close enough to see it, or far enough away not to be able to touch it themselves.
I've played it up to that point again (saving the night before as they go to bed), but every time the preist comes, the husband gets stuck in the door! Is there anything I can do manually? (note: I'm not very experienced with dromed)
Invisibility on 14/11/2004 at 00:34
You mean the books? As far as I can tell, they become unfrobbable when one of the NPCs goes to read them. I found that a little disappointing -- it would have been fun to flip through a bunch of pages while they were reading.
Even when you reload there's still that problem? I'm not sure what you can do, then. Nameless is aware there can be pathfinding problems. but they would probably be very difficult to fix.
MrMunkeepants on 14/11/2004 at 01:10
well, I got him to work after 5 or 6 reloads, but it happened again the next time the priest came. So, I just stuck with it and it eventually worked correctly.
is there any difference in gameplay between difficulty levels?
