Hello (bump)? I find an unusual quality in this community. People seem to tend to ignore additions to an older thread. Why is that? It seems rather wasteful to me to have to start a new thread with the above questions in it, just so people will respond to it.

If I remember right, you have to keep pressing the frob button for some time to get reactions.
Playing the piano only works if you keep pressing. Also turning the pages of the book, or changing clock time etc. And you can't do things while the AIs are busy with it. Means you can't turn the pages, while someone reads the book.
As for the salt box (blue, wasn't it?), you can take some salt from there - it's a bit tricky, but if you grabbed it right it's shown as single grains on your screen. Then throw it away into the soup plates. Do it repeatedly to get a reaction. You can also walk right through the people.
You need a bit patience for that one. The number of days depend on your intensity of actions.

Well, like I said, I sat watching it for an hour of realtime, and the AI's just stood in the same place during that entire time. Could anyone define the mission's time scale a little better for me?
Thank you for responding BTW.

You mean they didn't even move??
Than there's probably something wrong with your scripts. (Just don't remember which ones are requested, so best is to install both: GayleSaver's and Telliamed's. Get them (
http://www.thiefmissions.com/scripts/) here.
This is what should happen:
You see the husband coming home, wife's greeting him, both go into the dining room and sit down for soup. After some time they move randomly to some of the other rooms, doing stuff there randomly. After first day they go to bed. Next day is similar.
Eventually you just need to restart the mission. I realized that in rare cases the game flow stucks and the AIs are somewhat caught. Maybe that happened in your case too?

Yes, the mission was somewhat buggy; I was planning to make a version 1.1 with some of the bugs fixed, some more scare types and actions, and an intro. Never quite got around to it though...
Each time you 'scare' the nobles, a scare counter goes up by a certain amount. In order to win the mission, you need to get that counter above a certain amount.
If the AIs are just standing there looking stupid, something has gone seriously wrong, and you probably need to restart the mission and/or make sure you have both tnhScript.osm and Script.osm properly installed.

I was wondering how many ghostly things can you do in this misson. I think I have found them all, but I just want to be sure.
But mostly, what do you do with the telescope, and the books?

Some questions:
1. Is there a time limit?
Will I fail if I don't manage to scare them away after x days?
2. What are the differences of the different difficulty levels?
3. Has anybody gotten reactions from turning the book pages? I don't think they ever noticed that.
