All for a good cause. I'm sure that guy will be able to sleep better at night now that his mouth isn't inexplicably in the wrong part of his face!

On-topic, the HIB2 is now over. The final stats are:
Total payments: $1,823,056.01
Number of purchases: 232,848
Average purchase: $7.83
Average Windows: $6.67
Average Mac: $9.26
Average Linux: $13.76
The money appears to be ~60% from Windows, and ~20% from each of the other platforms, which would make the numbers very roughly:
Windows: 164,000
Mac: 39,000
Linux: 26,500
(my percentages are off, but not too dramatically)
Largest single contribution was $6,132.96!
That total is also notably more than the first bundle raised (I thought that had ended up with ~$1.1M, but the link earlier in the thread suggests more like $1.4M... either way, $1.8M is a nice increase on that).

Indeed. I'm in the "Linux" pile, and started with $8. However, as soon as they added the first bundle I doubled my donation :). Very pleased.

I didn't have the first bundle so I paid $6.66 × 2. Aquaria itself was worth more than that so I may increase my donation for HIB3.

RE: The comic strip. Who the fuck cares? There's loads of deformed comic/cartoon characters out there. Did you suffer anal retentive anxiety whilst attempting to watch The Simpsons, since they're yellow skinned and have only have 4 digits on each hand?
Shadowcat on 28/12/2010 at 01:01
Calm down. I don't actually care; I just thought it looked bizarre. My apologies if I offended the artist, or anything.
One the subject of HIB3, it'll be interesting to see what happens next time. The new 'tip' element of this one was apparently to fund some ideas that they have for indie game distribution or marketing (I forget exactly what they said), so hopefully good things will come from it.

I like how the Linux contributors are almost as big as the Mac ones, yet they paid quite a bit more.

yeah what hypocrites, who pays for software anymore, information yearns to be free
lost_soul on 28/12/2010 at 01:26
Actually, the point is that we're happy to pay for games as long as the publishers don't install hidden drivers or other malware on our systems.

Since when the fuck have you been the mouthpiece for Lunix users? How the fuck do you know what everyone's opinion is? Making sweeping generalisations is a sign of pig shit ignorance.
