So, I ended up getting the Penumbra bundle as well. What the hell, I wanted to play it, now I get to at a fantastic price.
So I'm about to get fired up, and that old difficulty question rears its head. Which difficulty should I play at?
With Thief, SS2, and Deus Ex, I liked the toughest difficulties, not because I like things hard, but because the games were much scarier and/or tense that way. You really had to take your time, especially in the Dark Engine games.
Is the difficulty the same kind here, where the hardest is the only game in town if you want to get into things, or is it is save/load fest?

Thanks for the heads-up dj_ivocha. I already own Goo and Penumbra but decided to buy the bundle anyway to see what the other games are like.

I've been meaning to play Gish, Acquaria, Goo, and Penumbra for years now.* This was too good an oppurtunity to resist.
So I played a little bit of Gish on the train home yesterday, and after a while lost all my lives, and then the wierdest thing happened:
I had to start again from the beginning.
Holy fuck, I can't remember the last time I played where it was possible to lose all my progress! It feels a little intimidating now that I don't dedicate as much time to playing games. Losing all my progress half way through would be a pretty severe penalty. But it should also make the game much more interesting - and tense.

I made sure that of my $25 only $2 went to the EFF. Fuck the EFF.

Out of curiosity with no real knowledge of the situation, what do you have against the EFF?
The idea of this bundle sounds nice, but unfortunately I'm not really interested in anything in it.

hahaha i love ttlg
I like how Eva never came back to defend his ridiculously (yet perhaps unintentionally) callous viewpoint.

Erm, to be fair, it's because he's been given a little enforced time off the forums.

That does not surprise me.
