I was lucky enough to play a beta version of it and IT SCARED MY PANTS OFF.
Ladies and gentletaffers, I highly recommend wearing a skirt or kilt or something so this doesn't happen to you.
Creepy as hell, lots of great detail and thought put into it. I think you should go into business doing this, Sledge.

Unfortunately I found out that I won't be able to play it. My computer (Pentium 450) simply cant handle the size, so I get about 3 frames per second =\

I've had people of all ranges of hardware play it and haven't reported any general fps problems. What kind of graphics card do you have? It's big, but not as big as Ambush or Life of the Party. It should run the same as any T2 OM... and probably a bit faster than parts of Soulforge and Trail of Blood.

That is a brilliant idea, how can you crap your pants if your wearing no pants
muuurgh on 2/4/2001 at 22:21
I always play Thief without pants, but that's just me.

The framerate is really bad for me too....I have a Celeron 400 with a Viper II (TNT) and the only map that slows down of the OMs for me is Shipping when there's a big open space (but it's tolerable). Man, I really wanted to play this too...

Hmm... there's a problem with the link from tripod so I switched over to The Underground (hope that's cool Despot!). The link to download should now work.
About the fps: I've never had a problem or had one reported before now. I've gone in game with show_stats and fps is comparable to any of the OMs. The only thing that I could think of would be the huge overall cell count the mission has (about 26,000 pre-optimize) due to the largest size and irregular brush structure. But that's about the same overall cell count as Calendra's Cistern. I'll see what I can come up with.

Ah... yeah, there is no fps problem with any of the individual areas, but I think the overall size and amount of S&R in there is driving general fps down just a bit when the entire level is optimized. I've been deliberating over this... so tell ya what: For now I'll say the mission is recommended for upper end computers.
There is a definite "halfway point," so what I could do is divide the mission in 2. That would definitely solve the fps problems for any lower-end computer users. I'll get to work on that asap.

Ok, little early report (since everyone else is doing it)
I have a P2 450, 256 Mb of RAM, a tnt1 16 meg AGP
First I say; looks good! (so far)
second; it is slow, and I agree, looking the general amount of stuff on screen I'd say its not the poly count (or whatever) How slow? Well its just got a hint of weight to it, if you know what I mean. At a guess I'd say hovering around and below the 20fps mark. Not a problem so far, but I don't do a lot of running or fighting if I can help it.
Lastly; that sword is annoying. If I pull it out and put it away the light goes out alright, but if I cycle from the sword to another weapon a patch of light is left behind where I was standing. I cycle all the time, so that's rrreally painful.
Other than that I have nothing to share of any consequence.
Cheers.
-edit- Well, good news. The framerate thing stopped after a while. Seems pretty much normal now (except where there's trees, but that's typical too). Must have been a caching thing.
