That door doesn't have a banner over it on Cutpurse and you can open it on that difficulty level. I presume the banner was placed over it on this difficulty to make it inaccessible.

Wow. <img src="graemlins/wot.gif" border="0" alt="[Wot?]" /> I don't think I've seen the words 'Inverted Manse' and 'not cool' in the same sentence before. I'm flabbergasted.
If the mission had been identical on all diff. settings except for minor things like loot requirements then I would agree. But IM's difficulty levels were different enough to make me at least feel like I was playing a different version of the mission. So I liked the 3 difficulty levels and being required to play each one. It was the first FM in a long time that I had played on different difficulty levels, as it usually wasn't worth the time to do them all.
Nightwalker, supercomputers don't have kitchens....you must be referring to your motherboard. I suggest in those situations where you get stuck, just do a warm reboot and you'll be good as new. <img src="graemlins/thumb.gif" border="0" alt="[Thumbs Up!]" />

Actually, I'm quite convinced one of the vault clues gives it away all by itself. Pardon my forgetting which level it is, it's the clue with mention of an animal (and no, you can't guess the combination from this post)

There are 2 clues on each difficulty level that you can collect. Each one you get makes it easier to figure out the code for the vault. There is nothing important in there it's just interesting. If you want the code, e-mail me and I'll send it to you. :)

OK, I'm feeling like a T-Rod. I've got the vial, and I'm going around trying to "use" this thing on various fountains in the place, and it keeps coming back with "empty vial". I can't drop it in the fountain. Where the hell am I supposed to fill this thing, exactly, or am I hitting some sort of mission bug? (playing in Rogue).

There's an "unholy water fountain" somewhere. I think it's just outside the library door, but I'm not at all sure about that. I had an awful time finding where to fill it when I played. :)

Yep. Been to that fountain (the one in the bedroom?) I've also killed the haunt in the paganite temple and tried both of those fountains. I've also used the one outside the door to that temple, and finally, the little pool in "the woods" after killing the spider with the rocket launcher (lol).
Still no dice. Help!

I know how you feel. I did all that stuff, too. It looks like one of those holy water fonts that you can click on to turn your water arrows into holy water arrows. It really is just outside the library doors, in a space at the end of the hallway. There are two big pillars, two statues, a couple of tall torches and, if you look up, in the ceiling there is a red cross sort of thing right above the font. Does that help? :)
