Thanks guys....i FORGOT about that combination lock. That was way in the beginning! I think I'll spend some more time on this map.
I don't recall hints to opening it though. Is the combination the secret alluded to in the stats at the end of the level ?

You'll find two hints in each difficulty level, they are notes of the person who built the vault. If you're lazy (like me) you can also look up the hints in the unzipped invman folder. It's not that difficult when you read them all.

Hi, all.
I'm playing Inverted Manse on Rogue (Normal) difficulty. I already completed it on Cutpurse (Easy difficulty), and I've completed all the objectives on Rogue except for getting out of the place.
My question is, where is the War Gauntlet on Rogue difficulty? Is it in the same place as on Cutpurse, in the morgue? If so, where is the key to that room?
Thanks in advance. I'll just go play on Warrior in the mean time.
BTW, the item in the vault is suh-weeeeet. :sly: I didn't get it on cutpurse, because I couldn't figure out the clues. I thought the clues on Rogue were quite easy to solve.

Try exploring the factory more thoroughly. Where would a craftsman have made the War Gauntlet?
If that doesn't get it, try
looking for someplace where it might easily rust, were it not suspended above ground.
Finally, the giveaway:
It's on the second level of the factory, one up from the bottom. There is a slow, sliding door which opens into a series of rooms that are waterlogged. On a workbench (in the first room on the right I think) sits the War Gauntlet.
Furens, thanks!
I don't think I've ever found an item
on a workbench
in any mission, so I'm just not in the habit of looking at them closely. Bad habits, I guess.

almost finished, i even got inside the vault (it only took two hints). i laughed out loud for five minutes when i saw what you get :laff: i actually never used one in the game, but i tried one out for fun. very nice. very *cough* thief-like.
anyway, i just have one question. i've been almost everywhere and have finished all my objectives, except to find a way out of the manse. the only place i haven't been is through an unpickable door. it's in the Cathedral. when you go in the back door, there's a haunt standing in front of a little ramp and a control box for the lights. i've taken care of the haunt, and down the ramp is a door. when you go through that, there's another door, and that's the unpickable door. can i get through this door on the rogue difficulty? if so, can i have a hint (not too easy) about where to find the key?
thanks,

oops, sorry, actually i still have to find the pagan book of spells. my guess is it's down that ramp somewhere, but i can't for the life of me find the key.
argh!

Have you been below the factory/power plant yet? If not, then the best is yet to come. :cheeky:
If I recall correctly, the unpickable door you mentioned is (along with a lot of other above-ground territory) only accessible on CutPurse.

well, i've been down i the tunnels, where the
underground forest and enormous spider is, and that temple with the trickster statue and the three other stones etc.
if that's what you mean. i can't find that book of spells, though. got any (not too obvious) hints for that?
thanks,

Judging by your mention of the three companion stones, I take it you've been to the room of doors? Look around there more closely.
Clue 1:
The central door, the one that wouldn't open before getting the three stones, takes you someplace deeper.
Clue 2:
Once you've found the book of spells, you've found the way out.
