I think I know what your doing wrong. You said you were trying and did get blood on the second ornament. It needs to be on the third if memory serves. There are 3 symbols on the ground, water, moss, and blood. Try blood on the third. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your suggestions. At last I managed to do it. As I have already mentioned, I used the dead body laying below the stairs and an unconscious body that I had brought from above. None of them "worked". Yesterday evening I tried it again, brought an unconscious body and for some reason it worked this time. I just did not feel right about killing the poor knocked out person, but on the other hand I heard something about sentiment beeing the thief's worst enemy :)
I also wondered what might have been wrong. And it is quite simple. The first unconscious body was a male body, but this time I brought a female body. It seems, that a man sacrifice was not enough. I had to sacrifice a virgin. :laff:
2stingm: I am not sure if third ones meens the one on the right. I always put it on the middle one, this time it worked.

The indentations are red herrings. The place you want to shoot at are the slabs that are covered with a blue coating (left), moss (right) and a dark coating (middle). A female body is not necessary.

You may be right! I was doing another play through a few days ago and had dropped the body on the slab but below all symbols. I did the first 2 and then as I picked the body up and turned and layed it on the symbol it ticked off. Wierd, but I guess you may be right. :o)
