The Kurshok have an interesting cousin... - by Petike the Taffer

Anyone else noticed how the amphibian-humanoid Kurshok from Deadly Shadows resemble Abe Sapien from the Hellboy comics/movies ?

(P.S. I read all the threads that speculated about the relation between the Precursors and the Kurshok, so that's why I mention the whole series as well...)

It's a little far-fetched but when I saw Pan's Labyrinth I thought I want this kind of believability for monsters in a Thief movie, if they do one. I don't see a lot of films with stuff like that, but the two there (and this one as well) looked somehow less artificial than...erm...Godzilla or anything else.

Yeah, Guillermo del Toro could be an interesting choice for a director of a possible Thief movie (all the necessary creature realism and atmosphere, that you mentioned). :)

I was thinking the Kurshok = "Creature From the Black Lagoon."

Wow, I have to check out those then... :laff:
Good night.
EDIT : Well, I checked... Um, very similiar - but the little ol' Kurshies look a little less ferocious... :) Hm, but then again : "Wwrrr... I count your blood !" :laff:

Actually this looks more like the original "Creature from the black lagoon". Circa 1954.

Seems more and more that people either steal ideas, or have little originality for these critters they come up with.
Alien and Predator being one of the few exceptions over the years.
