...is coming to PCs in spring 2009, making it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_8) nine years since Square(Enix)'s last PC voyage.

As far as sjRPGs go this one falls a bit away from a tree - it uses Unreal Engine 3, it's focused on squad-based combat("up to 70 enemies at once"), it has a lot of side quests(The quality of them is unknown to me), and most importantly it doesn't look nearly as bad as a (http://www.videogaming247.com/wp-content/gallery/valkyria1/val09.jpg) certain other sjRPG released recently, i.e. they went the "emo serious" route. Furthermore, reveiwers mostly complained about graphical glitches and slowdowns which should not be an issue on a PC.

I am almost interested.

I didn't know that Valkyria Chronicles was by WOW Overworks. It figures that they wouldn't get a title localised until they dropped the dating sim elements. I wonder if there were any fan translations of the Sakura Wars games?

This interests me too. Because Square Enix <33 most of the time. And people reviewing this game seems like complete tools when it comes to these sort of games, or that they personally does not like rpg´s and only into EA SPORTS!

Plus, the story seems interesting enough.

I'll tell you after I manage to get myself up from the floor. Demos are already endangered species, and this is a demo for a jRPG by Squeenix no less.

Seriously though, it'll take me a day or two to download it. Why can't they make a torrent? Goddamn.

But if you want my verdict right now, it will be terrible.

Games for Windows

I have bad news - because of large amount of games I'm getting(or plan to get) at the moment, I decided to not bother with the demo and simply grab the full version when it's out.

I downloaded the demo, and besides being a horrible console port (which button is 'x' again???!!??!!), it also has absolutely no tutorial of any kind. It gives you no context to where you are, or how to do shit - you really do get thrown in, so be prepared before you try. Luckily, combat is really easy, so no worries about dying.
