Yesterday we were out checking on some Antiques. A really good Antique dealer friend of mine owns a shop, he had taken in some stuff from a deceased dealer and was helping get rid of some of the deceased guys stuff. He had a warehouse full of you name it. Some of it I couldn't afford. Maybe next time.
Among the stuff was this piece. A coat of arms, totally cheesy, rather cool looking, made of plastic, with its original tag, made in Traverse City Michigan, circa the 1960's. I'm from Michigan too, its an unusual piece especially from that area. Its totally fun, it will hang in my shop for now. Hey at $14.50 I couldn't pass it up! :p:) In all my years of dealing with Antiques, I've never seen anything quite like this.
I'll do a bit of fixing on it, replace a small amount of paint loss, fill some chips, get it back to its original shape. It won't need much. I've already been cleaning it. The amount of dust was really hiding the colors, the blue is a bit much, but, its original, I can deal with it. I like the shape of it.

I like it BA. True it is a little on the "cheesie" side.
But look at the bright side. If you ever get hungry you can eat it. :joke:

lol, noooo, I can't do that! I like real food, and cheese, not that cheese. :cheeky:
It is cheesy, I know. There is just something about it!

I like it too, B'Arts. Cheesy or not. Don't forget pics of it totally restored, please! :)

TY dear. :) I won't do much to it. Keep it as original as possible. Someday put it in a gaming/computer room. Thats the plan for it anyway. A fun piece for a fun room.

TY nickie. :) It screamed Thief, Renaissance, BUY ME. For that cheap of a price, I couldn't pass it up. I put a bit of wax on it, that made the colors pop. I think its glorious too.

Now someone needs to turn it into a .bin file so it can be hanging on the wall in a fan mission!
