Doesn't look like my kind of thing at all - but based on what I've heard about Bayonetta. the dev's last game, I expect that at least it'll be well delivered, over the top fun.

I wasn't a big fan of either game's demo, but I definitely thought that was a matter of taste rather than the games being bad as such.

Yep, it was iirc. In fact, I've got copies of both games sitting on my shelf, but I haven't got around to playing them yet. Some day, some day...

I'm replaying MGS2 now on the PS3 (the HD remake) and I am amazed I had forgotten how great it is. I definitely wish they had stuck with that formula... MGS4, although awesomely epic (Raiden as Grey Fox... It's my turn to protect you now....Snake...) has far too much gunning in it and not enough of the classic MGS gameplay tropes. The collection also has MGS3 which plays similarly to MGS2, and another MGS game I've never heard of (which seems to be another action based iteration)
Edit: Just watched trailer. While totally going against what I SAID I'd like to see in the series.... playing Cyborg Raiden in this context is too awesome. And likely, this is the beginning of the end for this series (unless this Raiden spin off becomes some hit) since the legend is dead and Raiden is too overpowered to be a sneaking type character like Snake. Actually, if you asked me how a Cyborg Raiden game might play, it would be like this... so I'm not too upset.
