EotB was simplified compared to DM iirc. It was one of the first games where I realized there was an incidental plot (some Dwarf feud I think) going on though. Incidental and getting involved was optional.

This game looks quite interesting. I'm not a fan of 2.5D, but the atmosphere looks great. I agree with Sulphur's perplexed posts on the first page of this thread, but, despite that, I'm inclined to grab this the moment I am able to.

Crabs are nothing, spiders are much worse. For far they are the only enemies that have caused me problems.
