kinda funny,
I had several people who couldn't get out there.And the switch isn't even hidden. :cheeky:
just walk back to the gate and the switch is on the wall at your right side

Damn it I could swear I was over every inch of that wall.
By the way this is a great mission

Thanks Sinistershadow, but I spent 20 min looking for it and still can't find it. Can you be more specific.
With the porticullis in front of you, turn right so that you are facing parallel with the wall.
Side step right. The switch is in a small alcove that is tricky to see if your not looking :joke:

to all:) ;
to quote my own post;
delete the old fan-mission file from 'thief2' and re-download a new one but do not delete the fan-mission 'saves' in your thief2, 'saves' file. then, extract the mission into your 'missions' folder. so, when you 'restart' your mission in darkloader, you can play from your last save (darkloader will automatically use the mission's 'save' files from thief2). you should now be able to play the mission properly from where you left off.
first, i meant 'replace the mission download with a new one' instead of 'extract it'. i still maintain that this idea worked for me (several times, successfully) and whether or not i will continue to use it is my prerogative.
however, i also realise now that my advice was inaccurate and misleading. as nightshifter clearly pointed out to me; using an old save file for a re-downloaded fan-mission might jeopardize the future gameplay of that mission. it was not my intention for this to happen to anyone. i gave my advice with the best of intentions but i also realise that i was being hasty and irresponsible as well, in an attempt to make friends. if i have misled anyone with my advice, then i apologise:o.
ok...now i'm going to continue with what i do best; playing 'thief' and giving advice on mission gameplay:ebil:. i love playing thief, i have been playing it for years and i don't want this to become a negative experience, for me or any of you.
cheers, nightstone:cool:.

I just have to conferm what NV and nightshifter have already told you.
Downloading the FM again is COMPLETELY UNUSEFUL, because the new copy will be just the same, unless the file was corrupted, which is not the case.
You could achieve the same result by uninstalling the FM, move it to another directory, install the right scripts and then installing the FM again. If it will work or not doesn't depend of downloading it twice. Your theory is just illogical, sorry. :)

Just in case it hasn't been said explicitly. Your method works, we're not saying it doesn't. We're only saying that the same result can be achieved without the step of re-downloading the FM that's all. Of course it's everyone's freedom to do as they wish. :)
nightshifter on 25/3/2007 at 21:05
@kittykat
you are def. missing the custom scripts.
you will need gaylesavers, NV's and telliamed's to let the mission work good :D

Nightstone, I know how you feel. I've been there ....
Let it go! You don't have to try to make friends here. You already got friends here. There'll always be some people who are too blunt for there own good. But there're so many others here on the forum. Focus on them.
I know it isn't easy. You want to defend yourself, but the only one who get's hurt is yourself! I did it too.
I also didn't understand some critisism, just because I never would react on another one's remark, the way some people reacted on mine.
You don't need to defend yourself! You just wanted to help and that's a good thing!:thumb:
Don't let one remark ruin your interest in this forum and it's members.
So, keep giving your advices here.
