The Looking Glass legacy: how LGS games have influenced the industry - by june gloom

I think Bioshock is an excellent example of their influence. Although Ken is an LGS alumni - I think the focus on immersion for the player
(much like in the best level ever IMO - the Cradle in TDS...) is one of the greatest treasures LGS helped bring to the gaming community/biz.
Side note here - found this by accident but can't believe it was still up. :wot: Mike Chrzanowski's last days at LGS photos. Some sad days there for the gaming community - but it's cool to see them again and brings back some great memories of those times before here in TLLG. :thumb:

Splinter Cell, Hitman, and Oblivion... How different would they be?

The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay - Stealth in first person perspective game that seamlessly integrated into the experience.

While the System Shock games DEFINATELY have had a big impact on on the industry, on the overall whole I would have to say that the Thief games have had the larger impact. Just look at how many games both FPS and otherwise that have implemented stealth since the Thief series. Yes it was present in rpgs like Fallout etc, but not to the same degree.
