What is your guys’ problem with the Mechanists? Sure they’re a rip off of a much cooler and flavorful religious order with an ugly combination of colors for their uniforms and a hideously stupid gender neutral honorific (‘friend’ :rolleyes: ), but I’ve never felt outright hatred for them as some people seem to. They might be evil and crooked, but no more so then most of the other groups in the Thief world. Besides, they get the job done. I haven’t modded the game so that I can play on expert and still kill every single Mechanist on the map. I don’t slash down all the Mechanist banners I. They’re just not that bad. Pro: They made nice machines and technology. They were openminded to change whereas the Hammers weren't.
Con: They killed Pagan children and used poor people for mechanical slaves.

All religious fanatics suck. Hammers, Mechanist, Pagans, whomever. I KO or kill most of them when I'm allowed.

Odd, I do that to everyone I see. At least when I can try. Otherwise it's fun messing with the AI by taking a hack at 'em, hopping into a river, then climbing back out to hack at them again. And commoners are the funnest. When they start running I shove them into a wall so that they are running in place, then I give them a nice smack on the head and let them go to sleep.
