Hi all. I searched for this problem and was surprised not to see it anywhere because I feel that I cannot be the only person affected by it. Basically, when I select a brush and then move it, the darned thing moves away from my cursor (the opposite way that I'm trying to move, typically the brush just keeps moving upwards). I did see a post that is very close to my issue by Child of Karras, but the solution does not fit my problem. I changed the mouse from wireless to a wired one, but it's still doing it. It's driving me nuts. Anyone know why this is happening?

That happens to me sometimes, too. I just reboot windows and it's okay.

Yeah, I rebooted windows but it's still happening. Last time this happened, rebooting worked but it won't this time.

I updated my Dromed to 1.22. I can't think of anything else that would cause problems. Mouse still doing it after 2 reboots and one complete shut down. My gamesys somehow has lost all its objects - and I've tried more than one gamesys and this issue is across the board. Also, usually if I save the mission or anything like that, there will be text at the very bottom of Dromed that confirms what I did ("gamesys saved" etc...) and that no longer happens either. I also had to extract the commands from a Cmd folder so that Dromed would even work. Has anyone else had these issues after upgrading?

I think these are 2 different problems.
You should solve the problem with that mouse first. Try another mouse if you have one. Input devices like a mouse are doing strange things sometimes. I recently had a mouse that was acting spontaneously on its own. I don't know why. I removed it.
After upgrading DromEd to 1.22, you installed the DromEd-Toolkit, too? You should to that.

First off, are you using a desktop or a laptop. I had this problem with one of my laptops. I had to turn off the touch pad to fix that. Also, do you have any joystick controllers connected? I know that some people will have their controller enabled to move the cursor. (Just throwing up possibilities here). :p

Do you use any custom menus?
I was having weird brush dragging issues, but then I removed my custom menus and it was back to normal.

Hmm, this is a laptop. It could be the touchpad because my hand rests on it while I am editing. I will check that out. Yes, I installed the toolkit as well. Do I need to redo the tafferpatcher or anything similar? I didn't redo anything after upgrading New Dark. I do use custom menus in Dromed. This is the second mouse I've tried, I have no others, but both present the same problem. I'm gonna see if I can completely disable the touchpad and if that helps. I don't have any controllers connected but I do use a program called Pinnacle. I will check and make sure it is not turning on or something.

This happens to me every time in dromed and it's very annoying and sometimes it even got me to the point where the mouse was doing it for every brush that I moved

The only thing I do when upgrading NewDark is copy over the new Dromed and Thief2.exe files, and the darkdlgs.dll if it's been updated. If you copy over any of the config files, you'll revert all your settings to default NewDark settings. As for the mouse, you might also try checking your mouse driver and settings to see if some setting has gone haywire. (grasping for straws here)
