Do you think it would be a good idea to limit the choice to missions that are in the thiefmissions.com archive and/or have a reasonable length thread in this forum? There would be a better chance that people will have played them.

Agreed - &, judging from some of the mission threads that get dug up, it seems this game is playing a significant part in this.
Also, for quite some weeks now, thiefmissions.com has a d/l for every FM I'm looking for; & I've thrown it some obscure ones!
And as to FMs having a reasonable thread length - who judges what's 'reasonable'? Plus many older FMs don't have a single thread, but a bunch of little ones.
Perhaps some more revealing hints on harder ones is needed (e g, I liked clearing 's use of the - seemingly defunct - "Name That FM By Its Initials Game" hint :thumb: )
