Garrett could be British and a ladies man.
it's not like garret has ever been a ladies man.:nono:

I originally registered as rag_noris many moon ago. I switched to Rga_Noris on almost ever other forum due to a typo while setting up an e-mail account.
your purpose for this post is VERY unclear to me.:tsktsk: plus it has nothing to do with the purpose for this thread.:tsktsk:

Half of your recent posts have nothing to do with the purpose of the threads they are in, and a lot to do with just commenting on people's posts, including posts long after the discussion is over and the people have moved on. :erg:

Instead of new technology, I would rather like to see improved AI behavior.
Level designers could place markers in every room to tag a room as "kitchen", "storage" etc.
If a guard spots Garrett, he could then yell something like "There's someone in the kitchen"..or "He went downstairs!".
Or guards knowing the names of the other guards would be nice too: "John, I need some help over here!". I think that this would add much more to the immersion than any type of new communication device or weapon.
...and they should be able to climb ladders :thumb:

it would be hard to find names for all the gaurds but the idea of tagging an area is fine with.

It shouldn't take more than a day to gather a list of 200 male and female names used in medieval times. There are plenty of books and websites about it. The rest would be up to the voice actors and level designers.
But speaking about technology: I would love to see some new steam robots in the new game. Maybe some that use their mechanical claws in melee combat.

It's not availability that's the problem, the issue is with stitching the name with the rest of the sentence together - you'd either have to record separate versions of each line featuring a name for each name that can be put in it, or you'd get this disjointed, unnatural effect to the phrase like you hear with automated rail service announcements.

I think it could be technically possible - other games pack thousands of lines of recorded dialogue these days. Bit impractical though - Garret/player doesn`t know guards names (unless floaters above head, ugh :/) so I wouldn`t care that much. Plus guards are organised militia so maybe calling out rank would be more believable and simpler to implement.
Like the tagging/climbing ideas and generally improving behavioral AI though, this would certainly spice things up a bit.

Someone suggested that, due to my recent registration date, that Was an EM employee fielding ideas to the community. Therefor I mentioned that I have indeed been present much longer, just under a different screen name, to clarify that I am not an EM Employee, but a member of the community.
