Hey
Now i'm sorry if the title is a little bit misleading but wanted too get your attention there has been some talk about Kick starting a TTLG rebuild of thief, and as every one knows there are some harsh copy right issues about this , now i have a proposal how about a mod for Thief 4 , i don't know about the legal issues around this but it seems most games now have some sort of a mod, this way i pressume we can get around the copy right stuff also TTLG have a city to start with so they don't start from scratch , that means they have maybe less development time.
Now for the things i hope they improve i hope to hide this so if you don't have to read it you don't want to .
if you wish to read Mark the text from here -->
The story is bad they killed off Garret (in my opinion) and it's like they ripped off the story from bioshock infinite , and what the hell happend at the end how the hell did she fall ? we weren't even close to the edge , and if he cared so much for her what the hell was he doing? sorry about the rant,,,
- Please give me back the bloody jump butten i miss MY jumping..i want to jump on what ever i want...
-if the rope arrow could be a rope and an arrow that you could shoot onto wooden objects and they would stick that'd be great.
too here --->
these are just some of my thoughts people would probebly disagree but please share your thoughts=)

I didn't read your spoiler, but this statement definitely needs some clarification. First, what exactly do you mean by a "TTLG rebuild of Thief?" Only people from TTLG can participate? Btw, I post and read here every day, but I haven't heard any of the "some talk" you are referring to. Would this "rebuild" be done using T1/T2/TDS/TDM? What exactly do you want to rebuild? I know I didn't read the spoiler, but you should be able to phrase it in general terms that don't give anything away.
In short, some more details would be nice.

A mod for Thief 4, you say? As far as I know, you can tweak quite a few minor things (UI/graphics related stuff mostly) in the .ini files, but what you're asking is impossible, I'm afraid. :erg:
They didn't release a mission editor for Thief 4, and I don't think that you can just "fix" the jumping and other contextual actions, or the rope arrows.
I think that in your case the best "mod" would be going back to the older Thief games, or even The Dark Mod. Thief 1&2 are pretty impressive these days, with the NewDark update and high-res textures and stuff! :)

Hey
...
Hey! Don't mean to burst your bubble, but how would you go about modding Thief 4? There is no level editor, there is no SDK for modification of any core mechanics. The config files offer some pretty basic adjustments, and that's about it.
Unless Eidos suddenly change their minds and release a level editor + SDK (code), then what you propose is impossible. EM have stated that a level editor "might" be possible if a sequel ever happens....but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Wow, where/when did they state that? That at least sounds a little promising.

It was in some interview with one of the devs. Can't recall where.
Here's the deal though. We have to make sure Thief 4 sells well enough for a Thief 5 to be greenlit and only then will they 'look into' releasing a level editor after Thief 5 comes out. Not buying into that nonsense. They should have planned to release an editor with this game...not coerce people into buying it so that they could think about releasing it with the next one.

I thought i said i pressume this could work , obviously i am wrong , and you don't have too look fare to see that there are some threads about kick starting a thief game with the ttlg people..
