The only two "time travel" films that I can stomach are 'Twelve Monkeys' (because it's Gilliam) and a no budget, absolutely wonderful little film called, 'Lunopolis'.

I'm lucky (of sorts) in that plot, and especially the question of "What happens next?", is one of the least things I'm interested in when it comes to movies. I rarely go to the cinema without knowing 80% of what's going to happen - I don't go out of my way to get spoiled, but neither do I mind much if I do. For me it's almost entirely about *how* a film is what it's about, as Ebert once put it. As a result, a trailer that gives away most of the plot is unlikely to put me off because of that quality, unless it makes the plot come across as painfully stupid and there's nothing else to make up for that stupidity.

Thirith kind of brings up a good point that goes against my own "no spoilers!" views - there are many different ways to enjoy a movie.
Story
Stortytelling
Visuals
Acting
Emotional appeal
etc.
Take Lost in Translation or Les Miserables which I hated the story of but loved the cinematography. Contrast with Weatherman which visuals are nothing spectacular but the story kept me engaged. Or stuff like IT Crowd which has neither great visuals or an amazing story, but the acting and simple gags were enough to make me keep coming back.
So I guess lesson of the day: not everyone watches movies merely for story and plot twists, so getting that spoiled isn't always as big of a deal to them. But I'd still personally agree US trailers spoil too much :p

Speaking of reboots and Twelve Monkeys.... hey Queue, you should do a quick google search and watch a nice little French b&w film called
"La Jetee" ;)

Oh shit, that's right. I had completely forgotten about that film, VA. Thanks for reminding me to finally watch it. :D

Apparently Queue is the dethtoll of time travel movies. He probably didn't even like (

Now THAT looks like a classic.

Hmm my impression of primer was that it crossed the line from the challenging but interesting "oh, smart movie" to utterly confusing clusterfucky "omg look how fucking clever we are guys!" But I should probably rewatch it before I cast a final judgement, tho.

They set their funding goal at $200k. They got that in less than two days. They're just about to hit $300k and still have 27 days to go.
It looks incredible.

For me this occurred over 13 years ago with the trailer for What Lies Beneath, the Hitchcockian thriller with Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfieffer. The trailer outlined every single beat of the movie and also included the final act plot twist.
