If you are having trouble using the BitTorrent client, try the most recent Shareaza beta, which also works for eDonkey and Gnutella files.

I can't understand anything you all are posting. I tried Bit torrent. What happened to instruction manuels or is there some sort of psychic link that I am missing. How do you just know how this all works. I am always afraid of messing up my computer or loosing stuff. I'll just go back to d/l at night when everyone is asleep.
OH! what a minute. I did get somthing. It was a file that I d/led in 1 second. Thats it thats all I got. ...... good instructions at that site.

When you install BitTorrent, it sets up an association that runs the BitTorrent client when you download a torrent file. That's about it. There's nothing special to run; the torrent file just tells the BitTorrent client some information about the file and what site is coordinating the sharing.
I'm kind of amazed at how easy this whole BitTorrent thing really is. I'm running Linux and I just have a copy of "btdownloadcurses" running in a text console in the background, watching a directory. If I put a torrent file in that directory, it automatically downloads the file and starts sharing. If I put a complete file and the corresponding torrent file in there, it seeds the file. If I delete or rename the torrent file, it stops seeding or downloading. I don't think it gets much simpler than that.

Yah! so I got the torrent file. What do you do next? I d/led everything there. nothing happened. when I clicked on the files I had d/led all I got was a message asking me if I wanted to open them or unzip them. I don't see anything about clients or the mission that I am looking to d/l. There are about 3 screens there and they just lead back to each other in maddening circles. Why do computer people think that just because they understand how to do things on a computer that everyone will know. Some of us are slow in certain areas. For instance, epithuma, in your second paragraph of the above post I understood the first and last sentence. The rest made no sence to me. Why? because you were using computer Jargen. In my Job I don't use jargen because my patients would not understand me and I would not be able to help them. OK! OK! Sorry! I'll get off my soap box. I am going to utilize the route Jabberwalky has started. I can probubly handle that.

I am going to utilize the route Jabberwalky has started. I can probubly handle that. 1. DL the bit torrent program and execute.
2. Go to the address for the file that epithumia posted.
3. Double click the file.
4. Bit torrent will open and start to load.
5. When it is loaded it will start to UP to others.
6. If you leave it running it will continue to seed.
7. If you shut down and want to reopen the file to act as a source.
Go to the FOLDER where Bit torrent is. Open the folder and DOUBLE CLICK on the file that says Night---.TORRENT. This is a 14 KB file.
This will automatically start to run the program to link you online and feed the file out.
8. To keep it simple DO NOT REMOVE THE FILES FROM THE ORIGINAL DL LOCATION.
Copy/Paste the ZIP file to your Thief folder (or where ever). When you start the 14 KB "torrent" file it looks to the original location for the ZIP it is going to use and send out.
SO for a non computer techie person follow the steps above. The program is semi-automatic and self governing.
Or when you have Bit torrent installed, go to the AIX site
(
http://www.aixgaming.com/filerush/)
and double click on the Night Falcon (or other file) that you want. Bit torrent will self activate with that file.

That torrent thing is nice, although it was quite slow for me. I was only pulling it at a max 5Kb/s. I'm on a 56k, but my phone lines in town only work at about 52 max. Downloading for me is terrible, but certainly well worth the wait.
I've only just started, and I'm still in Garrett's house, but I have to say this:
CHRISTINE IS A GODDESS!!!!
and so she doesn't have to translate this:
CHRISTINE IST EINE GÖTTIN!!!!
thank the internet for translators :-)

I think I might be a bit late to the party ( 15 years:cheeky:) , but reading some threads at ttlg, the nightfalcon was mentioned.
not really remembering what this mission was about, ..let's replay it..
strange: I had to download it??? starting it up, I realised I never did play it... :o
so, 15 years later: thank you christine for your wonderfull missions. I just finished part 1 and man, did I enjoy it.
