Do I collect a compass later on in this mission, or am I just being thick at the start? :confused:
There's a compass mentioned in the read-me, but it's simply not in my inventory.
I'm aware it's a personal thing, but I bloody hate not having a compass, especially when the mission objectives start talking about "the South this" and "the North that").

hint 1 : In the munitions block. go west of kitchen
hint 2 : need display room key from east gatehouse
hint 3 : to get in munitions, try the elevator below (outside south gate
hint 4 : need to activate the elevator from above on the roof
hint 5 : to get on the roof climb drainpipe

When you find your equipment and the objective checks off make sure it doesn't UNcheck when you look away! If so, try looking again. If no good, you might try a quickload and try again before you move on. If still no good, or if you only discover it much later then I suggest you finish the mission in the attic then hold down all four keys : Ctrl + Alt + Shift + End to get 'Mission Complete'.
Only a couple of players have reported this gremlin so it does seem very rare. I've never seen it in hundreds of tests. I duplicated the error in a test by blocking something so that seems to be the centre of the error and I should be able to fix it easy. I have no plans for an update but I am noting any problems and will include fixes if I do an update. You can always nag me if you desperately would like an update in the future.
