Mac the Knave :
1. In the East gatehouse. You need to explore the garden first
hint 1 : read the notice on the wall
hint 2 : hanging on the wall
hint 3 : behind the door
2. Stand right in front facing the font. Look almost straight ahead. Press the drop key.
3. The attic is the final objective when you have finished everything else.
good luck ! :thumb: Come back if you need more help.

Thanx, Fidcal, for part 1 (so far) of this mission. Challenging pathfinding, great detail & AI 'usage' ( e.g. the loony guard, the grieving widow, kids runnung around, etc) - although I had to come to this Forum for answers more often than I would ever like.
Have to agree with gorice & others that the jumping / mantling was over the top. Mantling was either very hard or "hit & miss" - and I've still got no idea how I finally fluked my way up the broken ladders on the outside of the tower! As I see it, this is more than frustrating : it's simply unnecessary.
And did anyone else fall way short of the loot total? I rarely get it all - ave about 90% - but I finished with just over 50%!!! :wot: I'm not asking for a loot list or anything 'cause I'm definitely not going back (I shudder to think what I'd have to do to find the rest :erg: )
Anyway, on to part 2 & my beloved BJ...

Just baffled by these difficulties in climbing the ladders. But if I do an update I'll look at putting in an easier alternate way. :thumb:

Is "R" the drop key button? I have gotten that button in the font a dozen times and still lose health. What am I doing wrong?
Also, the east gate house is where the running guard is? Behind which door?
Fidcal on 3/2/2007 at 17:35
Can't remember what the default drop button is, sorry. Maybe something has gone wrong. I have tested it scores and scores of times over years and it has not gone wrong. But there is always a first time. If it actually drops into the top recess roughly where it started then that's it. If it won't stop you dying then there is no hope I am afraid. It is terminal. Hence the warning in the message. When was your last save? Hope you can do a quickload.

Do I have to have the coin?
Fidcal on 3/2/2007 at 17:58
Mac : No - just the opposite. You should not take it.

okay, i have some questions 'cause i am totally stuck!:erg:
1.
how do i get gwen into the east tower?
2.
where is the book the nurse talked about in gwen's note?
answer soon!:(

She-Thief :
You have to awaken Gwen. You can do this at any point on the journey. Use the glove to signal to her when and to what point it is safe to advance. If you don't like stealth and are playing on Hard I recommend you carry her all the way. Gwendoline's possessions are in the east gatehouse so when you get there you can have a look round.
hint : I should add that to awaken Gwen you should get something from the sick room (and instructions) if you have not already
She-Thief on 3/2/2007 at 22:18
okay, just to make sure i have this straight;
once she's awake and she's at the east tower (is that what it's called:confused: ) she'll open it for me-
is that right?:weird:
p.s. thanx for the help:thumb:
