Hi there I am stuck again high above South gate. I got rid of Dogget (hilarious) saw the brocken lift. Climb up
pipe in corner, found frobbable brick work
nothing in there.
I jumped over to roof
walked up to far end wall, there is a metalic door leading to water, lots of broken arrows
I saw a door up after i came out, tried to jump up/climb to no avail.:(
Find way to room up roof with crates and metalic grate. Find the
arrow and tried to shoot lift. That is impossible. I tried many times how do you do it or is there another way in
I suppose that is where I need to go to use the
display key but how do i get in if I can't shoot the lift up???
I'm lost here.
Fun to play otherwise.

thanis: There is something behind the brickwork but you may have to stretch for it.
You are on the right track but you need to shoot a broadhead down through the grid at the nearest big elevator button (horizontal next to the water.) There are some more broadheads in a footlocker in the warehouse behind you if needed. You might need to practice but it is not too difficult - you are probably aiming too high or low. Push that barrel well out the way. When you hit the button you only hear the clatter of the arrow on metal - there is no elevator sound as it slips silenty down (you can see it below the water that looks like a sink.) If still no luck then come back to me and I'll post a picture of the exact lineup.
If you absolutely cannot do it then some players have reported getting in by making a lot of noise downstairs to draw the guard out (near the display case where the combat bot is. Put the torch out first of courseThen slip inside while the guard is out looking for you (go right inside or you can get trapped between doors.) Or kill him if you can and get his key. [EDIT] CORRECTION - I FORGOT, YOU CAN'T KILL ON THIS FIRST LEVEL AS I RECALL!

I finally managed to get the right amount of look to avoid shooting arrows everywhere...:ebil: I did several saves so I will try that...who knows maybe I did it and did know.I am such a :joke: fool. I tried to get through from the other end as you mentionned but I always ended up killed. No hiding and sneaking there.
Now I am stuck in another level Hahahaha
Ta for the good game.

this was a very nice mission besides the fact i kept getting fustrated over
what to do with the girl after she was awake. There was no clues that lead me to take her back with the glove. I tried looking for the book to get her healed to get the key or try to find the key somewhere. I did notice when i put the glove up to her she moved but didnt know she followed. I had to check this site to see what to do with her. If there was a clue for it let me know, if not thats stupid. It did not take me that long to get her to the tower. All you do is use your moss arrows on the far right side of the house and fly by.
the taffer: Sorry it wasn't clear. I sympathise as I know how annoying it is to get stuck. The clue is in the first of Garrett's personal notes in his inventory that pops up at mission start:
"Told him stay behind me only advance if I show glove. Fool told girl! What's he thinking?"
I don't think this is shown on Director's Cut level but it does state right at the start of the readable:
Director's Cut level is judged too difficult first time out. Only play it if you...
. have read all the game info in this readme file - you'll need it.
. accept you might get stuck and have to get help. OR...
. finished on Hard or Expert and want a replay without nudges.
You miss nothing much on Hard and Expert and get ALL loot, terrain, etc. so why frustrate yourself? Just use Director's Cut for replay without extra hints.
In addition, in the readable, in the early "Essential must read quick info" it says:
Garrett will scout ahead and show a glove to signal when it is safe to advance.
In the fuller story it says...
Most especially he's to keep back while I'm scouting ahead and only advance to where I signal - I'll show him a glove. The blabber already told the girl about this.
I did everything I could think of to help the player but in a complex mission it is not easy. Glad you liked it anyway and good luck with the next level!

Frustration! But every time I was ready to quit, I found one more thing, but I'm still sloppy and try to go too fast, so I ended up having to come to the forums for answers. Once you get so far, you just don't like to give up, and you have to realize when you are spending too much time trying to figure something out (or when you know you missed something or skipped something you need). Even when I was ready to quit, I had to admire the work that went into this. Very nice.

Yes, it can be tough. The main tip I can give you is keep going back to the clues - the messages and objectives, etc.
