Enjoying this mission hugely - a really good storyline, challenging puzzles, and a lot of frustration! I've now got through Mission 1 (not without a lot of help from here!) and I'm into Mission 2 - and stuck
Where is [SPOILER]the code for the poison gas room?[/SPOILER]
Is there [SPOILER]another way out of the spiral stair area besides the passage that leads to Gwen's room?[/SPOILER]
Right now I have [SPOILER]the golden key,[/SPOILER] but no idea where to try using it!
Hints and downright spoilers gratefully appreciated! And are you going to start new threads for the other missions?

Thanks thorgrim.[spoiler] The code is not written down anywhere but has to be deduced from the back of the button panel which is up above in the air duct.
In the astrologer's room you need to LITERALLY follow the instructions on the crystal ball. You will need LEAN FORWARD assigned to a key if you haven't already. In other words you need to crouch, lean forward and gaze deep into the crystal ball. There is no need to frob it.
There is no other way out of the spiral stair area at the bottom except the low passage under the stair back to the east gatehouse where Gwen is. But you do have other areas to explore upstairs!
Gold key : In the gas room is a hidden passage. Search carefully. Hint: follow cables and pipes![/spoiler]

Excellent mission Fidcal :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: - and as soon as I'd found the [SPOILER]hidden entrance behind the book[/SPOILER], I was up and away.:cheeky:
Still need to [SPOILER]get the book[/SPOILER], though...
Have found the [SPOILER]shaft next to the door[/SPOILER], but can't see how to get into it - [SPOILER]I've tried the chair from upstairs, but I just can't get inside the hatch.[/SPOILER] Is there a trick I've missed here? :confused:

thorgrim: [spoiler]Not sure but I think you mean the horizontal shaft at the bottom of the ladder that leads up to the code buttons? If so, that is purely for the hoverbot to return to its listening position above the ceiling and cannot be accessed by the player.
Two things needed to get the book out safely and both are helped if you follow pipes and cables. The most difficult thing for most players is to figure out the riddle of how to use the oil so ask again if stuck.[/spoiler]

Thanks, Fidcal. I have found and used [SPOILER]the anointing oil [/SPOILER]and recovered [SPOILER]the pearl and the mask - and even the crystal [/SPOILER](though some of the trickier objectives eluded me).
I've therefore found [SPOILER]the passage behind the book [/SPOILER]- but there's obviously another hidden passage entrance that I haven't found, since I still can't get behind [SPOILER]the button panel up the ladder near the door.[/SPOILER]
You set a mean puzzle - and I'm probably being very slow... :joke:

thorgrim: [spoiler]Go down the ladder back into the main book room and look up. You should see a metal hatch. Note, this section is optional on Easy I think, maybe on Hard too. The clue to what this is about is in Jaskew's (the stair guard) orders.[/spoiler]

Thanks, Fidcal - and you're right, that does get me to one of the extra objectives. Still haven't worked out [SPOILER]a safe way to get the book - but got it the unsafe way. :eww:[/SPOILER]
Now safely (mostly) through Mission 3 and wrestling with Mission 4 - great stuff, beautifully and imaginatively crafted. I'd rate it as good as or better than many of the OMs... :cool:
