er90120 : Yes, there is a clue but it might be you've not been there yet. It's a bit difficult to work out so I made it optional. the mortar between the stones is crumbling so you can shoot an arrow between the cracks of the broken stonework above the drawbridge.

the mortar between the stones is crumbling so you can shoot an arrow between the cracks of the broken stonework above the drawbridge. Okay, now I got it.
I was trying to shoot between the blocks of the wall, not at the broken section above the door.:erg:
Thanks.

OK. I'm really, really stuck.
I can't find the oil.
I'm in the room with the blue glass ball and I'm gazing, crouching, read again the crmbled note, gazed and gazed again, but there's nothing. ???? and I don't have it on my inventory.
:grr: :nono:

I used "Lean Forward" (w+Alt). Or try use scouting orb for gaze deep into the crystal ball.

:nono: Clearing, Thanks for the help, but I tried all of this allready. All I see is a vage cross on a display in the glass ball.
What did I miss then?

Possibly its already triggered. First time you should see the 'found secret' message but only that one time. Thereafter it still triggers something but you have to look around the room (and it gets hidden in time!)
Then again, it may be broke. :(

Just reading through this thread makes me remember how great this campaign was, I need to go back and replay it. Anything new in the pipeline for future release, Fidcal?

Fidcal, I'm glad you're here now. Could you please lead me in detail to this point?
I started all over again and had the same problem.
I'm not sure what I have to see and where it disappears to.
please help?!

I don''t know what I exactly did, but now the painting opens up, but I can't seem to get into that particular spot ... grrrrrr!!!
I must try some more, I guess.

I want to move on, but I just can't.
I'm sóooooo tired of trying to get to the oil and other stuff behind that painting or flag. I tried climbing a chair to get in, lean forward, jump, crouch, but nothing happens. It all doesn't highlight :grr:
How did all of you Taffers did it then?

@Gloria Creep:
It's important to stand on the top step and lean forward right into the recess to reach the stuff. Also, turn and look and in different directions down and sideways slightly when your head is 'inside'. If that still fails, can you save your game and upload it somewhere? I don't remember this ever failing before. The problem was it was easy to frob them right through the banner without even opening it. Because it keeps closing it was technically tricky to prevent this. And because I'm used to leaning forward in Thief I hadn't realized some players were not so familiar with it. Sorry about that. Hope it doesn't put you off going forward and enjoying the mission. Post again if there is still a problem. :)
@Brethren: I'm working on three missions at the moment but they're all Dark Mod ((
http://www.thedarkmod.com/)) Current working titles are Manor Royale (a tudor style mansion heist and you can get a screenie flavour of a very early version @ (
http://modetwo.net/darkmod/wiki/index.php/Design_%26_Build_Methods:_Getting_Started#Final_style_choice_-_Basic_concept_complete)), The Hoarders (lots of loot stashed away by villagers in devious places) and The Heart of Lone Salvation (large manor medieval/Victorian mix heist)
Hopefully I can learn from my mistakes with Nightwatch.
