poison_the_well :
maybe it rolled
under the drawbridge!
I am looking for the coin and looked whare the hint says and found nothing. Just some dead bodies. The hint does mean the
drawbridge in the room with the crystal that was (I got crystal) floating over it and the floating mask.
OMG ! How the heck am I supposed to get the coin ? I can see it but keep frobbing something else when I try. Got it...what a pain.

Found the coin and crystal. I cannot figure out how to get them though. Does anyone have a clue or a technique to acquire them?
Fidcal on 1/2/2007 at 05:51
mxleader : Tip (no pun!) for getting coin : There is a message elsewhere about the mortar being soft and will take a sharp point. Stand on the drawbridge near the portcullis and shoot a rope arrow in between the cracks of the stonework above the drawbridge doorway on the left roughly above where the coin is. You can climb this to get the crystal too. You can stand near the portcullis, raise the drawbridge and jump for the rope and then back but the easiest way is this: Leave the coin for now and leave the rope in place and when you have finished the other objectives here and are on your way back downstairs as you pass out by the rope just climb up and frob the coin. Need to get a good position so you can highlight it and not the drawbridge

Thanks Fidcal. That was pretty easy after all.
I think that the best tip for these missions is to slow down and read everthing carefully. Then look carefully. And then experiment a lot. I have definately been going too fast.

Definitely! I tried to emphasise this (see readme and Mission 1 thread) but mainstream Thief players just don't generally play that way. Pretty much everything in Nightwatch can be deduced by reading, studying, and reasoning it out.

i've found the dice, and the "secret" to uncover the back of the pushbuttons, but i cant figure out the code, any more clues?
Fidcal on 1/2/2007 at 09:12
blow :
There are plugs in the back of the relevant push buttons. Work out what they are in reverse and that reduces the possible combinations to variations on only four letters. It is an English word so easy to guess.
