Thanks, ffox! I'll go back and see what I can do. I managed to finish the mission by just going down the drain in the big tank so it hasn't held me up but I don't know what I missed by not getting out of that hatch. I do know that I didn't find all the secrets in this mission (unlike the first two missions) but whether that had anything to do with that hatch or not, I don't know.
I can't believe how excellent this mission set is and that I've never played it before. I don't know what the other difficulty levels are like but Director's Cut is a blast. Exactly the kind of mission I like: very well done puzzles that you have to (and can) actually think your way through; engaging gameplay; dizzying heights and acrobatics; immersive story; tense situations that are difficult to make it through but not frustrating; clever AI interactions and motions; and lots of nice little touches everywhere.
I don't think the last mission quite lives up to the quality of the first three, especially in terms of gameplay, and the ending was a tiny bit anticlimactic, though not enough to ruin the experience in any way. But overall, this is FM building at it's best! This campaign is definitely going in my top 10 missions of all time. Maybe even my top 5.
Fidcal, if you are still around, congratulations! My hat is off to you!

This is one of the first campaigns I played when I started with fms around 10 years ago, and also its one of the best I ever played. Especially the third mission. It really gives you the feeling of getting lost, but somehow still curiousely sneaking around and finding out more about the plot. The whole campaign bulids up well, for example regarding to the playstyle (forced ghosting in some places/no blackjack/mean and strong guards of drakons household in the first mission, and with blackjack and even killing allowed in the following missions) or that the locations are varied and well fitting. Its just nostalgic.
