I'm in the whirlpool room...

I have not been able to find durbage's body... but went in the control room, down the ramp with the 1 guard and the big yellow water pipe. Is the waterpipe the way I have to go?

Because that waterpipe got me glued to its surface making it nearly impossible to enter through the hatch on top (can't jump)... REALLY frustrating.

I'm in the submerged tunnel trapped by the gate. If I go up the nearby ladder, there's nothing up there - just a dead end. What do I do here?

Edit: Never mind, I wasn't looking hard enough. :P

I jumped through the hatch beneath the whirlpool... but the next grate is closed and I don't see a lever nearby... any help?

edit: never mind... I can go up..

Ok... I'm in the control room for the wet caves... there's a lever to open something and I see the whire leading to somewhere.... but that's all, nothing opening to go through...

what do I do now?

edit:.... sheesh...second time... got it.

Well......I guess I'm the only one STILL drowning at the whirlpool !!!!
I've read everything in this thread.......I realize that I'm supposed
to climb somewhere.........but where ??
Is there a special spot , or do you have a " climb " key ??:confused:
My Garrett crawls up a little , and then gets thrown back into the
water :grr: . I've tried mantling , jumping , and just plain walking ......
but nothing's working...........help.!!:)

I've really enjoyed the first 2 parts ( with ALL their innovations )
and I would love to play part 3 , if I could just get started !!!

NAC: [spoiler] I'm assuming you do not have a rope arrow right? And this is your first visit to the whirlpool? Walk to the control panel at the west side of the whirlpool. If you look up there you should hear a garrett comment suggesting you climb there (at least on Hard and, I think, on Expert. There is also a light switch there on Hard (and Expert I think) If so, put the light on. If not, use a flare, it's a little easier to see. Mantle on to the control panel. Jump and run up the join where the two angled walls meet. Go RIGHT to the very top where it overhangs slightly. If you can't quite get there then jump again, maybe move back a bit and run forward again. You should be able to get high. Stand there, you won't slip down (if facing the wall). Light another flare if needed. To your left is a metal ledge. Part of it looks too narrow but it's not. Just turn and jump and run sideways on to that ledge and keep going. You might slide down when you first try but just go back up and try again. Once securely on the ledge (light another flare, there are several places you can run and mantle up to where you see the broken control room window. Good luck! [/spoiler]

Great ! I finally get a Blackjack and I cant hurt anyone. Why bother even giveing me one ? Just for the one guard at the end of mission 2 ?

I was very annoyed with this too ... but hang in there for just a bit longer, you'll be able to do anything you want in this mission eventually ....
