So what's Russia's cunning plan? Let the monkeys in power in Kiev further alienate their own countrymen in the east and see what happens?

I think we already covered this. It was in your latest memo from Lubyanka.
The unsubtle plan is to use KGB operatives to destabilise the Ukraine, before it can consolidate any gains made through the recent revolution, then come to the "rescue" of Russian minorities.
Russia has already warned Ukraine not to send troops east to deal with the KGB shit disturbers or Russia will provoke a civil war.

KGB shit disturbers
Mr Avakov, Ukraine's acting interior minister, found none among the protesters apprehended in the Kharkiv riot. All of them were Ukrainian citizens. But he's full of crap and a Russian agent, right? Half of Ukraine are these days, maybe more.

Isn't Avakov (just like Ukrainian prime minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, and president, Oleksandr Turchynov) claiming that all these recent riots were prepared by people paid by Russians?
So... what are you trying to say, nemyax? Are you really trying to convince us that Russia (Putin) had nothing to do with what's going on in Ukraine right now? Really?

You are correct nemyax.
If there are no KGB agents in one group of people it is impossible for them to be operating anywhere in that particular country.
That's science
In fact hasn't it been proven that Russia is doing nothing wrong here at all and the only people annoyed are the capitalist pig imperialist western dogs of the IMF?

Apparently he is, but I don't have a facebook account. Incidentally, the wording and enemy-seeking sentiment is much the same as that employed by Putin's own Kiselyov.

Personally, I detest said pig dogs just as much as I do Putin.

It's obvious. These dirty imperialists also killed Anna Politkovskaya, ravaged Chechnya (why no referendum there, you western pigs?), poisoned Alexander Litvinenko in London, arrested and jailed many different activist or members of the opposition etc.

My Ukrainian-Russian friend had the best comment as usual. She said they wouldn't want to join Russia if they knew what it's become. They have this vision of Soviet-era greatness, but it's not even a shadow of that now. Russia can't pay for all its provinces now. They're just getting in the back of the queue. She wondered how people could be so passionate to leave a poor, depressed country for an even poorer, more depressed country; and thinks they'll be in for a rude shock when their beloved Russian "services" arrive.
I feel for her though. Her family has been split in half between pro-Russian and Ukrainian sides.
Its an interesting notion, but Im not convinced. The people of eastern Ukraine are not delusion basement dwellers. While some may not know much about life in Russia, I really doubt there is a significant portion who think it has any 'Soviet greatness'. Russia is absolutely not a poorer more depressed country than Ukraine. Its not even close. Russia is certainly not a wonderland, but it does have better economic standing than Ukraine, which is exactly what the debate was based upon. Is the EU or Russia better equipped to help Ukraine improve its economy? While the obvious choice (obvious to many here, that is) may be the EU, one has to consider the fact that Russia has provided large monetary bail outs already, and the historical and ethnic ties matter too. It is also worth considering what closer EU ties would mean. I know of a few Ukrainians who worry that Western help will include the IMF which will impose harsh restructuring measures, and the privatization of a number of national industries. Its a compelling argument worth considering when you look at the mess that is Greece.
As for the unrest in the Eastern areas, one has to acknowledge the irony that Russia is doing exactly what many Western NGOs have been doing in Eastern Europe for years.

Keep in mind she grew up in Russia and half her family still lives in Ukraine, she was possibly overplaying it for rhetorical effect, and I can't trust my summary represents her exactly. I think her main point was just thast they may be over estimating what they're getting out of the deal, and life as a peripheral Russian province isn't all it's cracked up to be.
She was also distressed by the violent videos and reprisal videos going back and forth that give ammunition to be manipulated by both sides.
The other point she made was that the main theme of Russians in Ukraine is neglect, Ukrainians suspect them & there was a recent row where they prohibited them to use Russian, in classrooms IIRC, and until recently Russia ignored them too. So she's not surprised they're making so much noise, just to get recognition after so much recent neglect.
