Now I have the gold key, bronze key and the special item. I guess I just have to find the shield now. I recall some reference to it, but where did it hint at the location (expert) ?:) Also, how can I get some of that loot in the club room? I need a bit more and don't know of any other place to find it. I tried sneaking, going over the bar and using a rope arrow, but no luck so far.:erg: Later--I guess a rope arrow does work.
:cheeky:

I'm still working on this FM, but as far as the club room, which is the "bar" room I think, where all the guards are drinking and socializing?....I just ran in to alert them and then herded them into a tight group and jumped the bar so they'd have to take the long way around. When they got close I simply jumped over again forcing them to backtrack.I grabbed what I could and made a dash for safety. Anything I missed was gotten on the second attempt.
A variation of this manuever was performed in the basement where the wine racks were protected by 2 guards, both drunk, one of them with a bow.
Funny how, no matter how drunk, the accuracy of the guard with the bow was phenominal.

That's something I hadn't thought of. I need to use that type of strategy more. I went on the beams to one side and then sneaked across to the other side. I swear there were more than two candlesticks in there earlier. I am still pretty short of loot.
Right now I am in the temple and have disposed of two of the creatures. I am not having any luck with that web throwing mage though. Tried BJ, backstabbing and fire arrow--nothing works. Any tips on getting rid of him?:grr: Maybe I can just run and grab the seal while he is on the far side.

I haven't the foggiest idea, seeing as I'm not anywhere near where you are. I haven't found the Seal yet, and am short of the 1700 loot.
btw....is there any way of NOT triggering the alarm on the second floor, where you creep from one balcony to the other to get the special item ? I tip toed painfully throughout that room and got the candlestick as well as that "eraser with a face" and finally managed to leave without waking that guy.But later when I returned the alarm had set off and I found that the guy had disappeared. Looks like he was the one to set the alarm. Is it futile ??

You don't want to set the alarm off. It makes things really tough. The first time I tried his room, he woke up just as I went to pick up the candlestick. The second time, I kept quick saving and going very slowly and got out without the alarm going off. I would skip the candlestick if I had to just to keep the alarm from sounding. I don't know why the alarm went off if you didn't wake him. By the way, when I set the alarm off, a non-guard character showed up and had a purse, which I couldn't get, but I didn't see him at any other time.

There's a trick for BJ an AI lying on a bed. Creep up close, raise your BJ, crouch while it's raised and whack him. He'll stand up, then fall over. It really helps with guys like this one.
As for the web-throwing mage, Daisy, you can BJ him, but you need to use some moss arrows, because he walks too fast to sneak up behind. Another alernative is to just wait until he's walking around the far side, dart out, grab the seal and get out. You don't have to dispose of him and he won't go up the broken stairs. I've actually had good luck with just hiding tucked in under those stairs until he goes back to his patrol route. Then I leave with no bother. :)

I e-mailed with the guy that made this quest and he told me that he wasn't meant to be killed or blackjacked or anything, just grab the seal and run! :)

Thanks, Nightwalker. That sounds like an idea. I tried using moss arrows several times but no luck. I would rather forget him and grab the seal. It doesn't seem hard to hide from him. I did miss with a fire arrow once and they all went way back into the corner to investigate where it landed, so maybe that would give me time.:)

On this particular FM, though, you can't just knock out everybody. There is an 8 limit. And I've already used the black jack on 5. So I've got 3 left over, and not knowing what lies ahead makes me want to save what's left.
I've already solved that alarm problem anyway. Just went down to the room with the master switch and turned the alarm off.
There are plenty of unopened doors for me, and frankly, I don't know how I'm going to exit, with all the guards hanging around. This is what is so difficult. I have to pick and choose who gets clubbed, and I'm beginning to fear that I've already past the point where I can successfully complete this level.
On expert, I've still got to find about 150 loot, and some key or other that opens some doors (like the Main Hall second floor doors, both east and west side), and I still haven't found the Seal, but seem to recall a message that alludes to it.

The knockout limit only applies on Expert. You're not limited on any of the others, which is good. This mission is a real challenge when you can't use your BJ! Not everyone enjoys that type of situation.
