I just sliced the mage person in the temple up! I played on hard since I hate "only knock out a few people" objectives. Nice surprise when yhou fall through the portol below the seal :cheeky:

I have been trying for hours and can't get rid of the mage or manage to grab the seal. I assume you have to jump on the low wall and lean over, but I haven't been able to do it. Can you backstab the mage? Even with moss arrows, he turns around before I reach him. I have only used my BJ five times to get to the temple. It is no problem to sneak past nearly every guard. I never did open those second floor main hall doors since I had already been on the other side. I think there is still quite a bit of loot ahead.

I don't think he's very vulnerable. (I have blackjacked him, but it's very difficult.) He definitely isn't if he's been alerted in any way. I just went and tried it out again and you can do it without bothering with the craymen or him. Just wait in the shadows to the left of the door you came in. Wait until the mage is heading for the far side and the crayman on your side is walking away from you. Just run over, jump up on the red wall (make sure you don't jump over it accidentally. ) Grab the seal and run for the door. Go down beside the stairs and tuck yourself into the far back corner where it stays dark even if the light at the bottom of the stairs is on. Wait until everything settles down and get out. The mage didn't even see me steal it. Only the crayman on the side closest to the stairs came to check things out and he left quickly. You could try shooting a fire arrow or noisemaker over to the far side, if you still can't manage it. That might distract them enough for you to get it and get out. It's worth a try, anyway.

Okay!! I did it.:cheeky: It took about six tries from near the door. I'm heading back now with the guard. I guess I have to go across those vines again but I am sure glad to be out of there.:) Where do I put the guard when I get back? Will any room do?
Nightwalker on 3/4/2002 at 02:36
You have to find his room and put him in there. Is his name Horton?? (The old mind starts to go after awhile! :erm: ) I think it has a bulletin board outside it on the wall and it's at the top of one of the spiral staircases that come up from the main floor. I'm not positive about this, but I think it's right. :)

I'm missing something big here. I'm on expert mode and I've now got over the quota of loot, but I still haven't found the Seal, which, I presume, is inside one of the locked doors. So I guess I need help on finding a key.
btw, what use are those ancient bronze and gold keys? So far, I haven't used them at all. They don't open anything. Certainly not some of the doors I must need to open.

They are the keys to getting the Seal. Have you been reading all the stuff you find? There are clues about what you need to do. I seem to remember some very specific stuff in the Master's bedroom. You need to have 3 ancient keys, bronze, silver and gold. You need to use the gold key in a room on the second floor that has a rather unique Trickster display on one wall and a pyramid on the other wall. Use the key on the pyramid to obtain a head. Then go down to the main floor and look for a basement door across from the garden door. In here, you need to find a lever on the wall that opens a secret door. Inside here is where you use the two keys and the head to get to the area Daisy was talking about. :)

I read all the documents but they usually end up being comical or not important, so like crying "wolf" once too often, I no longer pay any attention to the scrolls. I do remember one in the Master Bedroom using some jargon and referring to replacing a head or something, but it isn't clear.
So it looks like I'll have to find the Silver Key before going any further. I notice that I seem to be the only one to have missed it, so it can't be that difficult to find. Perhaps I missed a door or something.

Look for Giblen's room. It's pretty unique. You'd know if you'd been there. It's on the second floor. You need to find the key first, though and I think it's in one of the servant's rooms. The one with the dead guy on the floor. :)
