Hey everyone, I'm playing Order of the Vine right now, and Taff it all to Maw if I can't find the taffing portal. I got the head and the two seals from that ratman head of the guard. I knonked out everyone in the place but I can't find the portal the books are speaking about. Please help. :confused:

I haven't played the mission in a while and my memory is fuzzy but it's somewhere near the enterance to the Garden, also near the room with the stage. It's on the first floor. There should be a place you can duck into, and inside there is another place you can duck into (possibly hidden by rocks/crates?) and inside are 2 pedastals and the portal. Use the head and seals on the pedastals.

Now, my memory is probably even more fuzzy as it was the first fan mission I played back then. Still, I remeber the room which leads to the portal was some kind of storage room. Several boxes and shelves there, some of which obscured the secret tunnel from sight. I remember finding it accidentaly when stacking boxes there. My first stack of boxes...sob :p

They're both pretty much right. :cheeky: It's a basement room and the entrance is across from the Garden. Some boxes do need to be moved to find the secret door and the trigger to open it. :)

Yeah I found it. IMO The worst part of Thief: tiny switches hidden in the dark. :mad: I swear I was in there for like 15 minutes looking for a hidden switch.
This map was fun, I especially liked when-
[SPOILER]you got to meet Viktoria in game instead of in a cutscene. Although I wish it was a custom model.[/SPOILER]

Welcome to the forum, Jura! It's nice to see somebody playing this wonderful, if older, mission.
The code to the Treasury is or at least a clue to help you figure it out, is right in the same room. Pull a little lever under the desk. If you can't come up with the code from the clues, it's 3241.
However, if you have the objective to get the "special object" from one of the guests, haven't you already been in the Treasury??
To get the special object, you'll have to explore the area of the mansion where the guest rooms are located. On Hard and Expert look for a bedroom with a balcony. You can get from that balcony to the balcony of the next bedroom where you will find the object. I believe on Normal, you have to find the door to the guestroom that has no key and bang on it. Wait for the guest to run out and get in before the door closes. I seem to remember that you can't get to the balcony on this difficulty setting, though I may be wrong.

Nah, the "special thing" is the rare object. You get in to the treasury to find out that the seal has been taken somewhere by someone.

I believe you're right. It's been several years since I've played this one and I obviously confused the two items. Thanks for clearing it up.
