It's like Spelunky, but without all the jumping, and traps, and direct character control.

It's like a roguelike except it's not a roguelike. At all.
PigLick on 28/6/2013 at 03:58
Your face is a roguelike
-also played some of Organ Trail and its a great little game, love the retro pixel art and music. Definitely worth 5 bucks if this sorts thing appeals to you.

It's like Dungeonhack without the dungeons or dragons.

It's pretty much Binding of Isaac. I think it even has copious tears and pawing through shit!

It's pretty much exactly like the Apple ][ version of Oregon Trail with zombies.
Yeah of course it's Oregon Trail with zombies, did my first post not already make that clear? I, however, have not played Oregon Trail, for
me the closest referencepoint would be - yes - FTL.

How do you figure this is
anything like FTL?
Sorry, I realize I didn't describe the game in any detail in the OP. It's a game where you have to travel a long distance while randomized enemy-encounters and story-events happen along the way. You have to keep your crew and your vehicle in good shape. You can upgrade your vehicle. There's resource-management and trading. There's perma-death. And of course the presentation, with 2D graphics and speech only in text-form, is also similar.

Cool, glad you liked it. :)

Bought it, played it. I immediately got what Henke meant about the FTL similarities - especially the constant balance between buying consumables (Missiles + drones) for your car (ship) or repairing it instead. It's not exactly like it, but they resemble each other in a few ways.
However, I really don't like the scavenging parts, largely because the shooting mechanic is so clunky. Draw a line to yourself from the thing you wish to shoot? Awful.
